I'm happy that they now serve appetizers and also have an option for an appetizer/dessert combo that won't break the bank (though they do limit your selections). Their molten chocolate cake is really superb (or whatever they call it), and they also have a truly excellent creme brulee which is served with the ripest fruit they can find -- it is delectable. Service is very good. They have an excellent selection of dessert wines and do have a tasting menu of dessert drinks available. The place is a bit overrated in that you can find equally good desserts elsewhere, but the theme is great.

Seriously. All the buzz about Finale set my expectations quite high, and I was sadly disappointed. The desserts are OK, but not that impressive. In fact, I had a sample platter (something like Italian desserts) and thought it bordered on bad. Depending on the location, it can also be very very difficult to get a seat (I find the Harvard location more of an issue). If all else fails though, you can always head to their bakery section. Oh, on the positive side, their non-dessert foods are actually pretty good. I had a yummy little pizza there once.

I worked in the building where Finale is located. What a fantastic treat. Their cookies are delicious (oatmeal with golden raisins, white chocoalte macadamia nut) but their desserts are truly works of art. Be prepared to spend about the same that you would for dinner at a casual restaurant. My suggestion is share desserts so you can get a good sampling of everything. Their coffee drinks are great too but don't bother wasting calories on them. Focus on the unbelievable desserts. They have something for everyone from fruit tarts to death by chocolate to pies.

Boston's only dessert- themed restaurant with a full bar, Finale is the perfect place to go after dinner for something sweet or for a drink. The ambiance here is very warm and cozy and the service is friendly. However, the prices for the confections are a bit high- $8 for a cookie? They are quite tasty though, so it's no wonder this place has been around for a little while.

Finale is one of the best dessert restaurants I've ever visited--they serve some lite fare in addition to their spectactular confections, in case you have qualms with eating only chocolate for dinner. If you don't, however, be prepared to be wowed with chocolate, fruits and pastries unparalleled anywhere else. The food is absolutely wonderful--and the presentation is even better. The atmosphere is very inviting and romantic, and a lovely place to stop for a night out with the girls as well--I actually held one of my friend's bachelorette parties here.
