I've never been there, only been once to Boston, maybe I'll go there when I'm in Boston next time.

This is nice
Pros: it sounds nice
Cons: it's far away from Zurich

I have been going to beer works for years now, i even buy their beer to take home. I have never had a bad experioence untiul yesterday. I went in after the sox game and some food. The food was great but they tried giving me a $150 tab when I wanted to pay. I let the bartender know that it was the wrong tab. She gave me my tab which was $45 and I paid it. Today I check my bank statement and noticed they charged a $165 tab to my card. When I called to let them know they were no help at all. They are going to research it and call me at the end of the day. I went to the bank and the tabs were run 30 seconds apart from each other. I seriously think this was done on purpose. Be careful when you leave a card for a tab, they have no clue hhow to keep that stuff organized.
Pros: location, beer
Cons: they will charge you for others tabs, very unorganized. BE CAREFUL

I've gone here several times for lunch with folks from out of town. It's near where I live so that's our primary reason for going there. The beer selection is good and they have a lot of original homebrewed beer. The food is so-so. I'd recommend the pizza and quesadillas but not the burgers. Service has been ok, but not great. At least the food comes out quickly. This seems like a good place to watch the game, but not so much for a sit-down meal.

I was absolutely horrified by the Fenway location. While we were eating dinner, they were cleaning dust out of the AC vent in the ceiling by hitting it with a broom and letting it rain down right where food was coming out of the kitchen. When we mentioned to the waitress that we thought it was disgusting, she sent the manager over (who was the one doing the dusting) who basically told us to shut it, that they were taking "all precautions" and then went back to hitting the vent and raining dust over the food coming out. After he finished with that task, he took a scraper to a counter with upturned glasses on it, scraping off god knows what, spewing it onto the glasses. All of this, in plain sight, AFTER we complained. Makes me wonder what they do in the kitchen. On top of that, the waitress was incredibly slow and the chicken fingers were overcooked to the point you coundn't bite into them. They're dirty, rude, and have terrible service. I will never go back.
Pros: beer
Cons: dirty, terrible service, rude manager

This place on their rotating menu has such a wide variety of beers, from fruit flavors like blueberry and watermelon to Fenway-themed brews. This is definitely one place to order a beer sampler. The menu of classic American ballpark dishes is just as tasty (the nachos are my favorites), but come hungry if you plan to order. Portion sizes are HUGE here. Only downside is that there are often long lines if you want a table and parking is hard to come by on game days and weekend nights.

The last time I went to Beer Works, I was mildly disappointed. The beer was good, but two different times during the night I had to wait for my beer while the keg was changed. Sure, it happens, but twice in 3 hours?! The service was, well, pretty bad. But on my most recent visit, there was not a positive thing to be said. It had the feel of a trendy college "sausage" bar. From the moment I walked in the bar, I got the feeling that I was obligated to love the place on the name alone. The beer was good. But the food was literally terrible. And the service? I'm not just talking about one or two people, I mean they were ALL bad. Very inconsiderate, and no sense of treating the customer well. At first I thought maybe it was a show, like the "Boston" tude or something. But when I realized this was just a lot of people who didn't care about their customers, I walked out the door with no desire to ever return.
Pros: Beer
Cons: Everything else, especially the service.

great place to hang, but it gets very crowded during game days since it's right across from fenway park.
:)
Pros: excellent variety of local brews
Cons: packed and noisy during peak times (long wait)

Last weekend, I went to beerworks with 4 fellow friends. We got there around 11:45PM and ordered our first drinks of the night. We were on our second beer when last call came. We had at most half a beer left so we decided to order a final round since it wasnt closing for about 40 more minutes. We were allowed to purchase the beer and brought it to our table. 10 minutes later, a waiter came over and tried to rip the beers from our hands, claiming a false state law (my friend is a lawyer) forbidding more drinks on a table than patrons sitting at it. At this point we said ok, we'll just finish what we have and there wont be a problem, right? Wrong. We were then told we weren't allowed to "chug" in the establishment, even though we now had about a quarter of a beer left. We requested to see the manager and the waiter said they didn't have one. We asked another waiter and they refused to give us a manager as well. After 5 minutes of arguing with the arrogant waiters, we finally found a manager by going out back and asking a cook. During this process I had finished my 2nd beer and started on my third. The waiter tried to physically rip it from my hand and threatened to phone the police for drunk and disorderly conduct, even though it was my second beer in an hour. They finally agreed to refund us our $25 for the round of beers, but then claimed it only cost us 20 because we ordered small glasses. Beer Works has one size of beers and they all run at least $5 a piece. After another few minutes we finally recieved a full refund, and also recieved a challenge to "step outside" from 2 waiters, a challenge the manager seemed to have no problem with. I have never dealt with such arrogant and ignorant people in my life. Had we been drunk and obnoxious, I could see some of their actions holding weight, but we were completely sober and respectful in our questioning of why we were even sold the drinks if we weren't allowed to drink them. I will never reccommend Beer Works.
Pros: Decent beer and a more relaxed scene during the off season
Cons: Horrible service
