The Comedy Connection in Boston gets a great line up of national acts as well as newer comics just starting out. I recommend getting differ there so that you can get a better seat as the best seats go to the dinner reservations. The dinner is just ok but totally worth it and you get a great night out.

I had heard so many good things about Wally's, so my husband and I finally decided to visit. We went on a Saturday night and the place was entirely too crowded! The music and the ambience were great though (if I imagined less people there). The cocktail waitress literally had to squeeze through the crowd to get people drinks. I definitely want to visit on a week day to get a better feel for the place. I have a feeling there might be some cool jazz to be had there.

I would describe the interior as plush...the people as sketchy. It's usually 21+, but they have nights when it's girls 19+ and guys 21+...Used to attract a 30-something crowd. They have a back room that often functions as a mini-club if there are college parties there. Cover's normal enough. If it's too crowded, there are plenty of other clubs in the area to hit up.

Landsdowne street is hard to take sometimes. Just check it out on a Friday or Saturday night; cab drivers stack up as they prey on drunken idiots who've missed the train home. Bill's Bar is not the typical night club or hip-hop bar that the rest of the street pretends is cool. The Future is not strobe lights and light shows. Bill's is centered on live music and decently priced drinks. It's a more grounded environment than the area is known for. So, after you lose your friends in the fog and sweat of the dance floor, leave them a text message and tell them to meet you in Bill's.

Medium-sized venue with amazing sound quality. Fits about 3000 standing room including the upper balcony when it is fully packed. I have never heard a venue with better sound. Plenty of room to move around, but still small enough to feel like you can make contact with people. They also rent this venue out for a variety of the events including wedding receptions. Easy to meet performers here as well if you hang around a bit after the show.

This place is pretty right on, it's one of the premier venues in Boston. There's a front room bar that usually has lighter, more acoustic acts, and the main stage area where the acts are as eclectic as can be. It's fairly small, which is a good thing. There are two bars in the back room and a kind of wiry upstairs where you can get a birds eye view. What I hate is when a show sells out here and they move it to some place like the Avalon so more dweebs who didn't think ahead to buy tickets can get it. It makes the show less personal and the audience less sincere. I'm no jerk, but I'd rather see a show with people who've been wanting to see it for months rather than some kids just looking for something to do.

Tribe was an all girls nightclub. It was 21+.The nighclub was Thursday nights. A lot of people used to come in groups, friends or co-workers. The place looked nice. The Dj is a guy he was great. His name is DJ Gay Jim. He is the Dj of Kiss 108 FM. The music was always mixed, pop, hip hop, salsa, r'n'b, top 40 and electro. The club was always packed in the beginning and then it started to slow down, then they had to close. Felt is still open but there is no more Tribe Thursday nights. The manager is the cutest and sweetest girl. She always hooked me up with vip passes. I don't know if she is the one who thought about that name but I like the name Tribe, for an all girls nightclub it's original and cute. They have security downstairs, upstairs when you enter the dancefloor and also on the floor. I always felt very safe. The restrooms were clean. The girls looked good and different. The club was very diverse whites, blacks, indians, hispanics, asians and more. The club had 3 floors, one floor had pool tables and tvs. The last one was the dancefloor. The bartenders were always nice to me and always said nice things about me. One day I asked for a marguerita and one of them did not do a good job. It's was gross. The cover was affordable $5. They had beers, cocktails, wines and more. I don't know why they close maybe the bad economy. I miss Tribe and the nice atmosphere maybe one day they will open again. Now, when I comes time to have a good time, we must think of not only the DJ but these factors as well; surrounding/people/atmosphere/drinks/smell etc.
What I can tell you from 7 yrs. of experience from working there is that the surrounding(space) is great, people vary depending on what day, DJ changes with the night....Some times you'll have a featured DJ that will hold down a particular night for months on end. Has to do with their rep most of all....Look for that. As for the atmosphere; great....I loved working there because of it.

This place is great! Expensive, for a college guy, but every time i go here i have a great time, Very big, great layout, is always filled with nice women. Upstairs you can relax a bit and comfortably. Watch out what doors you go in, they'll kick you out real fast. Great time.
