This is a large museum sure to provide hours of entertainment for the family. They have lot of hands-on type of learning experiences for the kids, special exhibits, an Imax theater, and a planetarium. The museum can get expensive since things like the shows, Butterfly Place, and the 3D cinema are extra. Parking is also very expensive. This museum is part of the reciprocal museum pass program where you can get free admission if you're a member of another member museum. If you have a family and think you'll go a lot, consider getting a membership (and Premium members park free for 2 hours). Members get some passes as part of their membership. The laser shows at the Planetarium are highly recommended. Fridays nights, weather permitting, you can go to the observatory. There are lots of dining options and an excellent museum shop.

The Museum of Science is fascinating even if you think you couldn't care less about science. From the huge T. Rex outside to the actual model of the NASA space shuttle (into which you can climb!) it is just cool, cool, cool. Those of us who grew up with "What Makes and Ocean Wave Wave?" are always pleased to see the wave tank with the lever you can use to control everything. The electricity shows are scary and mesmerizing, the animal section is surprising, and the upstairs section on deformities might give kids bad dreams - or educate them. Pricey, but remember you can get free passes ahead of time at your library.

The Science Museum would be my top choice for somewhere to go when I need something to do on a rainy or too hot day and am feeling eager to be mentally stimulated. I love everything there, the new exhibits are always interesting and hold my attention and teach me new things. The old exhibits I can see again and again and don't get bored of them. I love the exhibits about the human body, and the lightning maker things! EVerything there is well thought out and has immaculate attention to detail, great for all ages too.

The Boston Museum of Science is a great place to visit whether you're young or just young at heart. They have a really interesting set of exhibits, and there will surely be something to grab your attention--they have exhibits on biology and animals, as well as physics--including a huge Van der Graff generator that makes indoor lightning! They also get some really cool travelling exhibits that come through their galleries from time to time. Another highlight is the Omni theater--a very unique experience, very different from the more popular IMAX.

The Museum of Science is great for kids on field trips and adults of any age. The exhibits are always fun and educational and are ever changing. If you haven't been in a year, there are definitely new things to see.
The Museum of Science has an educational hands-on approach allowing children to experiement with many of the exhibits themselves. This is an excellent thing to do on a rainy day. Also highly recommended are the special limited engagement exhibits- right now they currently have one highlighting the technology and science behind the movie Star Wars.
Prices are a little bit high for this museum, but tons of discounts are available if you look for them. Also there is a restaurant on the premises which serves excellent Sunday brunch. Who could ask for more?

I have been here several times with my children. There is always something new going on. You could visit this museum every day for a week and there would still be stuff for you to learn! The gift shop alone could keep my kids happy for an hour or two! Across from the gift shop is a spot where you can get lunch. Lots to chose from!
