Amidst the range of sketchy to snobby jewelry stores in the Downtown Crossing area, E.B. Horn stands out as a polished gem. I have never purchased anything there, but know of friends and colleagues who report stellar merchandise and service. I went there for jewelry repair, and was initially intimidated because my diamonds are a fraction of the size of what they sell. Fortunately, I had no reason to be afraid. The staff quickly assisted me, asked me several question to find out what I truly wanted, completed the job in a timely fashion, did a *beautiful* job, and charged a lower price than their initial estimate! I was floored. I'll definitely be going here more often.

E.B. Horn has been at the same location in Boston for over one hundred years and it shows. Their customer service policy believes in actually helping the customer select something that is appropriate for their style and budget. Also you can bargain for the price of your jewelry and you can also have your jewelry repaired on the premises. These are practices no longer seen in many jewelry stores. The selection, which ranges from rings, to estate jewelry, and watches is very good and wide ranging. They also sell very affordable engagement and wedding ring sets. If you cannot visit the store in person you can visit their website. The management and employees here will really go out of their way to help you find the perfect piece for whatever occasion.

There are a lot of jewelers in the area, and because I’m on a moderate budget, I wanted to make sure that I got my money’s worth on a recent jewelry repair. A friend told me about their service and they came highly recommended, so I gave them a try. For an extremely reasonable amount (I was expecting to pay triple what I actually paid for), I was able to get the stones from an old ring set into a more modern setting. Service was done very well in less time than was originally expected. I felt like the person I was working with just wanted to get me in and out, however, so that was the only downfall. Otherwise, the other staff I worked with were excellent. They also offer a very large and exquisite selection of jewelry.
