I love this place. I used to always go to the Chestnut Hill location which is just as good with their food, however, the Boston location is a nicer restaurant. After dinner tonight I did not feel over full, although plenty satisfied. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and American- it was very easy to talk to her (only Asia's work at Chestnut Hill). If you want great sushi and can pay the price for it, make Oishii your choice. The shaved ice desert, Miso soup and the lobster sushi are great, also try to the meat sushi- made with red meat.

One of my friends recommended me this sushi place, so she brought me here Saturday night, and I feel like I wanted to write this review and recommend this to everyone else too. The restaurant itself is very nice, which also includes the atmosphere and music, and they've got good service too. Most importantly, I love their special rolls. They've got some of their own unique special sushi rolls you can't find anywhere else. This sushi place fits for you if you're really looking for fresh fish and good sushi rolls. I had a great experience here. I really like here and recommend everybody to try.
Pros: fresh sushi, good service
Cons: waiting line

Stayed at the Westin Hotel in the Copley area and was just delighted from this small but great sushi stop. My husband and I are from Southern Cal so we've had our share of sushi. My experience at his restaurant was excellent. Wait staff was great, food was fantastic...and let's not even mention the Mango Saketini. We ended up eating there 3 times out of our week visit. Will definitely be back.

This sushi place is the best I've tried so far. There's so much variety to choose from the menu. They've got great service. The line up can be long at times but it's quick. The staff is really friendly and accomodating. They always greet you with a pleasant smile. It's one of the best places in Boston. They even offer takeout and delivery. Sakurabana will always be a great choice.
Pros: menu, takeout,service
Cons: none

This little hole in the wall below Newbury St. is one of my favorite places for sushi. The service isn't great, but considering the value of the food and the location, I can't complain. I've probably tried everything on the menu and I've loved most of it. The bathroom is clean (and smells nice), which is suprising for small places like these. Great place to stop by after a day of shopping or to bring friends for a casual meal, craving sushi or don't have a lot of cash.
Pros: Price, food, location
Cons: Service is alright...

I moved to Boston for almost a year and I felt in love with this Typhoon for its sushi and its cozzy atmosphere. I've been dining around to experience other sushi places, but nothing out there convinced me to keep coming back, but Typhoon. Very attentive service, food come out fast, great wine list (they offer all wines by the glass and bottles which is great for everyday dining out), exotic drinks from the bar are unique too. I heard Typhoon has been there for over 10 years and has been improving and improving... that's the only way to stay in business. Unlike some places I've been to, same old same old, and sometimes they just shut down and disappeared, like Typhoon's Korean neighbor, Jae's or 711 Underground Sushi, whatever,.. they just disappeared.
Pros: Almost everything about a unique restaurant!
Cons: A little small for weekend.

I first got hooked on this place in London. This fun and upbeat restaurant uses handheld devices to shoot your orders directly to the kitchen as soon as you make them and ensures the freshest of food. The Japanese style noodles are delicious and guilt-free as all food is non-gmo. The group-dining is great. Two thumbs for Wagamama!
Pros: all non-gmo, made and served fresh
Cons: can never decide what i want

First off VERY GOOD service! Waiter very friendly, personal and extremely educated about their menu.
Great food made fresh in minutes. Everything was quite tasty, i recommend the crispy salmon roll. Beautifully presented food.
Inside its perfectly decorated in a very modern style.
Very easy access from the prudential stop on green line.
I highly recommend this restaurant, one of the best in the area which says alot since there are alot of Sushi restaurants in the Prudential/Newbury St. Area.
Pros: Ambience, Food and Service
Cons: price is a little high but perfectly acceptable for such a great dining experience

We just moved to Boston and are looking for places to enjoy around the house.
While the staff is Chinese and not Japanese, the service and food are quite good. The decoration is very nice with a blend of metal and wood as primary elements.
The unique combination of Sushi bar / Wine shop works quite well. We didn't order wine or beer but the concern expressed regarding cork fees are apparently addressed (at least were told it was to be contained in the retail price of the bottle).
The place was not too busy and actually fairly quiet which we liked for our dinner. Stay clear of the door where it can get pretty noisy I suppose.
We tried the Maguro, Sake and Hamachi sashimi and they were all quite good. The Seaweed salad was great. When trying a new place you have the include the classics so we ordered California rolls, they turned out to be quite tasty.
We will go again for sure. They also offer take out.
Pros: Decoration, service, sushi bar/wine shop combination
