i've been to the m bar numerous times since they opened and i plan to keep going back. the cocktail list is amazing--one of the most extensive i've seen in the city-- and every drink i've had has been perfectly made... i've brought a bunch of out of town guests there and they all had great experiences also. yes, the bar is crowded if you go on a saturday night-- i still had great service on the weekends, but if you want a more chill atmosphere, go on a weeknight.
Pros: drink list
Cons: crowded

My wife & I stayed at the Marriott Copley Place for 2 nights. Our room was on the 23rd floor and was very large and well kept. We were treated to an AMAZING view of boston from our large windows. It was unlike anything I'd ever seen from a hotel window. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. We had nothing but a positive experience at this hotel. I drove a van, so at night I was able to find parking at a meter a few blocks away which saved us about $50 a night in parking, so that was a plus as well. Great location to walk around and sight see (Copley Place) and very close to a T station.
Pros: Great location, friendly staff, great view.
Cons: $13 per day for internet

Gourmeli's is inside Copley just before you walk the footbridge to Prudential. For a hotel restaurant it's great and for that matter it's great all around. They do an amazing brunch on the weekend with an inclusive price where you can choose from hot and cold foods including make your own omlette, french toast, pancakes, cereals, yogurts, fresh fruit, juice, coffee, tea. There's another part of the restaurant where you can just chill out and have drinks, coffee, dessert. They also have a regular a la carte menu. There's great people watching too and it's a good place to go anytime of the year.

If you come here, you MUST make it a weekend affair. And I will tell you why: Satuirday's Chocolate Bar and Sunday's Jazz Brunch Buffet.
The Choclate Bar is EXACTLY how it sounds and it is AMAZING!!! It's a "try-all-you-like" buffet comprised of light and dark chocolate mousses, cakes, tortes, eclairs, crepes, ice cream, cookies pies and other confections. Then there's the Zing Bar (where the options include white milk and dark chocolate truffle lollipops and exotic fruit powders and spices for dipping), the Chocolate Fondue Station (featuring three flavored fondues a week) and Create-a-Crepe (a self-serve creperie with fillings from crumbled Oreos to creme anglaise). Among the other enticements are the Opera Torte, chocolate croissant bread pudding and the craziness of chocolate sushi (no, it's not seafood, it's fillings like mango "pickled ginger," pistachio "wasabi" and chocolate "soy sauce").
On to the Sunday brunch: Eight custom stations (omelet, pasta and crepe among them) serve as centerpiece to dozens of changing dishes, hot and cold. Look for tasty lamb and goat-cheese quesadillas and the custardy tropezine tart. Even adults will love the mac 'n' cheese, arrayed on a half-height kiddie table. Just as at the Chocoate Bar, the chocolate-croissant pudding is present.
If you don't go, you're absolutely crazy.

I loved this place the first time I stayed here, and now that I live in Boston I always have my out of town guests stay here - everyone has loved it! Don't be misled by the name - this is a B&B, not a private club. It's in the nicest neighborhood in Boston - the Back Bay - in a beautiful old brownstone with tons of character, nice rooms, helpful staff, and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend it!
Pros: location, price, charm

Jurys Hotel is located in the heart of Back Bay convienient to downtown shopping and area attractions like the Prudential Center, the Public Garden and Boston Common. The rooms here are first class- the very best amenities and service. They also have a very nice lounge and restaurant on the first floor as well which attracts the movers and shakers in the area as well as the upscale hotel guests. It is warm and cozy with chic decor and fabulous modern fireplace (great for winter time)

The Midtown Hotel is convieniently located in the heart of downtown Boston's Back Bay neighborhood. Though the location is super, the prices of the rooms manage to be lower than other area accomodations. The rooms leave something to be desired with the dated decorations and stale looking linens and draperies, but once you remember what a bargain find the hotel is, it's hard to mind that it isn't the poshest of places.
The concierge here is super accomodating and helps even the most lost of tourists find their way around the city. This is definitely a good value for the money in Boston.

Great hotel
This is a beautiful hotel located in the Seaport District. We had to take a cab or walk quite a distance to reach most of the tourist areas of Boston but there are some fantastic seafood restaurants next to the hotel that we would not have experienced otherwise. The hotel itself is just grand and the rooms are modern and luxurious. We enjoyed the gym as well as the pretty grounds. A bit pricey but worth experiencing. The staff were absolute five star, very professional and eager to please.
