I help to manage Yale in Dorchester. I oversee 75 home deliveries and over 110 service calls. Thats every day. My only direction is to be reasonable with customers. I have sent electricians, rewired rooms, sent carpenters and fixed cabinets in the interest of customer satisfaction...even when it was not clear to me that we erred. Some of these reviews genuinely baffle me. We dont outsource service as it is the largest part of our business. I honestly believe we are the best in this industry. If you ever have an issue at Yale, you can ask for me directly or the other members of my team: Dennis Macdonald or the owner, Steve Sheinkopf.
Thank you for your consideration.

Yale really is the best place for all of your appliance and lighting needs. Despite what others, who know very little about the appliance industry, have suggested in their reviews, the customer service at Yale is certainly better than what you can expect to receive at say Best Buy or Home Depot. Yale cares about their clients and truly aims to make them returning clients in the future. Ask anyone who works at Yale, almost half of their clients have bought at Yale before and have families who have bought at Yale before.
I suggest you take a look around their stunning showroom, talk to one of their friendly salespeople and make a decision for yourself. You won't regret it.

I have worked at Yale for 4 years, and I feel compelled to respond to Janet L. We are not allowed to refer or outsource delivery, installation or service. Most manufacturers like Whirlpool, Frigidaire and Bosch do not even offer service of any type. Over half the people at Yale work in after sale service or product support. In fact we have more service technicians than salespeople, (and will complete over 20,000 service calls...more than any other service company except for Sears).
Is the info on the brackets relevant?

Response from the Owner 3 months agoI read all the reviews on Yelp, AngiesList and Judys Book. Good reviews are great, but bad reviews have helped us become a better company and more responsive to our clients. At the same time, there has never been a customer with a legitimate complaint or problem, which has ever been unaddressed by us We don't outsource anything, and when you have 26 trucks on the road and 200 customer interfaces a day...Everything will never be perfect I can only promise you can call me on my direct line 617-822-6170, if there is ever an issue with our company Dennis Macdonald Director of Sales Yale Appliance And Lighting Have you been to this business lately? The water pump on my brand new dishwasher started leaking. I called Yale on a Monday and I was told that a Service Tech would call me back. Two days later and no call from Yale, so I called them. I was told that a Service Tech would call me back. The next Monday came and still no call, so I called then yet again. Finally I spoke with a “Service Tech”. He said that they would order a new part but it would take over 6 days for it to come in. 7 days later I called Yale and the part was not in yet.
I’m going on 3 weeks and my dishwasher is still not fixed. No one at Yale ever calls me with an update, I always have to call them. When I was considering buying my appliances Yale would call twice a day but yet when I have to get them fixed I have to chase them down.

I have always purchased my appliances from Yale Electric and found them excellent in pricing, manner, and follow-through. About 5 yrs. ago I purchased a top of the line - glass stop - electric stove. I did not use the oven for quite awhile - old micro. When I finally did I had guests sitting at the table - it was almost a year since I had purchased it - and the oven just fizzed out. I called GE (I had an extended warranty on Yale suggestion). GE would do nothing - Yale Electric had just taken over GE's Warranties and they promptly came out and replaced the mechanism of the stove and it's been perfect ever since. I have such faith in them that I ordered my Washer & Dryer plus air conditioner over the phone from Steve and was very satisfied with what he sent and the prices, too. Grace (Nathanson) Taglienti P.S. They installed everything with no problem.

I've purchased appliances from Yale Electric for 3 different kitchens. Every time the prices were great and the service excellent. Although the price may be a bit higher than local discount stores, Yale's expertise and its service department is worth the small difference. For my most recent renovation, I went to Yale all primed to spend $4500 on a dual-fuel stove. I'd done a lot of research before going in. The salesman asked me lots of questions about what I was looking for (I cook a lot) and then recommended that I look at a Bosch dual-fuel for $1600. He was absolutely right. I got a bigger oven and many additional features. In addition, I ordered the appliances prior to starting the renovation and, due to renovation hell, was unable to take delivery on most of the order for close to a year. When I finally was ready, he cancelled the prior orders and placed new ones-- thus ensuring that I got the full warranty period and also getting me a slightly lower price on the dishwasher. I think these guys are great! Service was great, too. The dishwasher kept losing pixels on the LED display. No problem getting it replaced and, when the problem occurred a second time, Yale contacted the manufacturer about it to ensure that I did not get another defective part.

I think that we are the best place to buy an appliance in the Northeast period. At the same time, I should be somewhat biased. I did also promise to be honest in my reviews, which I believe that I have been.
But I have an admission: Bad blog reviews bother me. Most people in the organization say that they will always be inevitable, and the numbers point to this fact.
By the end of today, we will have 31 vehicles perform between 225-350 deliveries, installations and service calls. If you are a customer, you will visit the store 2.8 times and call another 3 times before scheduling a delivery after the purchase(for specs and other info). We will answer between 78-125 separate phone inquires each day, not including calls that go directly to individuals(which would be roughly between 150-250).
Given all that there should be some people who are unhappy, they say.
The problem is that we are heavily invested to prevent this from happening. We have more service techs and customer service people than our top 3 competitors combined(Home Depot, Lowes and Best Buy do not service what they sell and contract it to GE, so I did not count them). Our service techs and installers will spend at least 6 months interning before ever stepping foot into a customers home, so they do know what they are doing.
At the same time, these blogs seem legitimate, but you cannot glean every piece of information at time of sale or service as much as we try. Our delivery and trucks alone will have between $750 to 1250 worth of accessories to make deliveries more seamless. However, its never a sure bet. Because when you are delivering or installing a product into someones house, its impossible to know what the electrical, plumbing and cabinet issues that may sporatically occur. Most of the time, the homeowner does not know. To be honest, neither would I.
I am also not impugning anyone for their opinion nor asking for their reconsideration.
For the people who believe that we have not lived up to our promises based on these blogs, we survey every transaction, the people who walk in your house are paid on customer satisfaction so they do have your best interest at heart, and you will receive a follow up call from customer service after your delivery. We will also answer any unfavorable correspondence as I have with the 2 on Judys Book
Lastly, we do not charge for normal delivery or removal and have not for 84 years. We do charge for 3 floor walk ups and stacking laundry as they are time intensive. If we cannot consummate a delivery, installation or other transaction, we will credit the account immediately. Insofar as the other one star is concerned, we did tell Dimitri that the unit was on backorder from the start and only relayed updated information from the manufacturer. We have no vested interest at being dishonest since we already told him that it would be delayed
I do not want to be self serving, just honest.
Steve
PS: If you ever have a bad experience, send me a message, I would be happy to help(as I have offered to the others)

I am a first time buyer at Yale Electric and it all strated very nicely. I placed an order and i was told that my first 3 items will be available for pickup next day. They were. But here goes the issue, the last item, per sales person, should have been delivered for store pickup in a week max 8 days, but it looks like it will hopefully take 14 days altogether. Called CS and spoke with few people, asked for compensation for the encovenience and guess what, u dont get anything. I had a delivery issue at Best Buy last month and I got a $75 gift card without even asking for ractification. So I dont think that i will shop at Yale again and will let everybody i know about the issue. P.S. They should have told me that delivery takes up to 3 weeks like other stores do. That will give them a piece of mind and a happy customer(s).
