I was pleasantly surprised by the unbelievable delicious food and the extremely attentive service. We tried the octopus and trip of pies for appetizers and both were to die for. I had a yellow fin tuna that was cooked to perfection over spinach and couscous. Others in my group had the sole and the shrimjp over couscous. I would caution the Shrim over Couscous dish was a mild spice (i love spicy food! - one person can barely handle mild salsa) so the waitstaff might want to make caution about that.
the decor was modern, trendy and inviting. The restuarnt is difficult to find. They are below street level and difficult to find unless you are looking for them. I would suggest a sign that is more visible from the street.
Cons: When the door opens there is a draft if youre near the door

I am a regular customer of Steve's - It is a warm, welcoming environment with a staff that takes great care of their customers. It is one big happy family, which makes the dining experience that much more enjoyable. The food is delicious, the service well-delivered, and overall experience a great one. I highly recommend Steve's to those looking for a great restaurant (not to mention, located on Newbury Street itself) - it is a "must-eat" site in Boston!
Pros: Warm friendly staff, Delicious Food, Excellent service

Okay so here's the deal-- judging from the other reviews written here you'll either love NYP or detest it. I think the category you fall under is dependent on how you like your pizza. NYP is for people who love greasy pizza, and I am one of these people. While I'm away from college I actually have cravings. Here's a typical slice:
The larger than the paper plate they serve it on
Thin pizza that's sloppy-the trick to eating it is to fold it over or tear it in half
Crust is also thin, light and fluffy. Like fresh baked bread, but not too doughy.
The pizza is often dripping with grease. It's not healthy food, it's comfort food.
Pepperoni slices are $3 each, cheese is $2. I like the classics better than any of their special kinds of za. They had Hawaiian, but it didn't have sauce, which was kind of gross. 've had a few other things from NYP-their pasta is pretty bleh, and their gyros are okay. My five stars is for the regular cheap slices.
Service: The food is always hot, and on busy crazy weekend nights the guys at the front desk might seem kind of impersonal because they have such a tremendous amount of people to deal with. But they're really nice guys, they'll talk to you if it's not super busy.
Atmosphere: Since they've renovated, the place feels a lot cleaner. There are usually a couple of big guys hanging around the door on weekends to keep the homeless out-it's the 7-11 across the street where they sort of cluster and mooch for cash now. In the daytime it's quieter, but it can be insane noisy at nights, and yes, the drunken do flock here. But as someone who doesn't party at all, the taste of the za for the cheap price is worth forging through a sea of inebriates to get.
Bottom line: If you like messy pizza, you stay up late and you're low on cash, DO NOT MISS OUT.
Pros: Best za, late hours, cheap price, ginormous slices.
Cons: Super busy weekend nights.

I work nearby, and this is the place I go to for lunch most often. I get takeout more often than I sit down. The shwarma salad is something I never get tired of. The food is always good, and the vibe is low key and pleasant. Nice people work there.
Pros: Good food, cheap. Pleasant atmosphere
Cons: none worth mentioning

I work close by and visit this place once every couple of weeks. The service is prompt and positive. The two entrees I usually get are the gyros and the greek salad.
Pros: Great service, friendly
Cons: tourist crowd
