I just love it. It is so good and tasty that I go there once a week!!!! Their Dim Sum is probably once of the best in Boston Chinatown. The only inconvenient is it is very hard to find a parking in Chinatown.
Pros: Excellent Dim Sum
Cons: No Parking

This is a great place to go for dim sum. The atmosphere is just like Hong Kong. The place can be very crowded especially on Sunday lunch time. The best day to go to eat dim sum is Saturday and be there around 12:00. Never had to wait.

I have been to a few of the places around Chinatown for various types of meals. Honestly, the best places tend to be the hole in the wall types. That said, so far, Emperor Garden is my favorite of the Dim Sum category. This is no hole in the wall. It is a beautifully ornate building with a bustling crowd that is a great mix of people. In my experience, the staff speaks English well enough to understand what you're saying as long as you speak slowly. What I like best about the food is the variation of Dim Sum that they have to offer. There are lots of choices from the very traditional palate pleasers (steamed tripe) to the very american palate pleasers (shrimp or pork dumplings - also traditional but more palatable to american tastes). It's definitely worth the wait.

Hei la Moon can be an intimidating restaurant for inexperienced Dim Sum-ers--- I highly recommend bringing someone who can speak Mandarin or who has an understanding of all the different Chinese plates with you on your first trial. Servers push around carts laden with small plates of Chinese favorites- like spring rolls, satay, etc. Servers don't speak much English and might not be able to tell you what they are serving on their cart in terms non-Mandarin speaking people can understand. Still, I like a sense of adventure in my lunch, so I like trying the different Dim Sum at the recommendation of Chinese friends.
Hei la Moon also has a traditional Chinese food menu for those that are too timid to try the Dim Sum. Prices are reasonable and the service is efficient. It is always busy here so probably isn't the best place to go for an intimate meal. Very good authentic Chinese food though.

On a visit to Boston, Ma earlier this year we had the opportunity to order from the Imperial Seafood restaurant. This is a Chinese restaurant that has seafood as their specialty. I liked their Jumbo butterfly shrimp.
