Cafe Vittoria is the place to go for an authentic cappuccino or dessert in the north end. The small cafe is in an old building, so it has a great old-fashioned, elegant feel to it, from the metal ceilings to the old-timey coffee machines on display to the golden pillars. I recommend Cafe Vittoria over Mike's, if you're looking for a place to sit and drink some coffee. Mike's is a great place to buy the sweets and then leave, but Vittoria is great for lingering around awhile longer.

Caffe Vittoria is a charming little restaurant in a charming area. It makes a nice stop on its own or as an after-dinner treat following dinner in a North End restaurant. They serve desserts and Italian coffee in a charming setting. The restaurant is divided into several rooms and each has its own character. It looks like a collection of local goods the owners picked up over several decades of trips to Italy. The restaurant is much larger than it appears to be from the street. As you enter and go by the first tables, you quickly see that it goes on for quite a while. If you don't see a free table, walk in and keep going. You are bound to find something. Caffe Vittoria is solely a dessert place. There are plenty of delicious Italian pastries to be had plus a very good selection of Italian ice creams. Small plastic menus reside on each table. Of course, you should also survey the pastry cases on your way in. If you don't see what you want on the menu, be sure to ask. Service is always good. It feels like a neighborhood joint and the servers act like locals. There is almost no parking near Caffe Vittoria, although there are some parking lots about a 20 minute walk away. The best way to get to the area is to park in downtown or one of the lots by the water and hoof it. The area is charming so it won't feel like too much work. Besides, you DO want to walk off all of those calories.

from a friend's recommendation we were told to check out Cafe Vittoria on the North Side during our visit, we sampled the mochas, espressos, and even a cappucino or two :) hands down, some of the best coffee i've sampled outside of Italy and the atmosphere is extremely friendly! The antique espresso makers border the windows and walls, giving the little cafe a very 'trendy' coffee house look and feel and the aromas of the pastries and fresh coffee are astounding! Definitely worth a stop anytime of day!

Caffe Vittoria has arguably the best cappuccino in the city of Boston. It comes expertly frothed with a dusting of cocoa powder-- most delicious cup of coffee I have ever experienced. The pastries and other Italian fare here is good as well for a light meal. The scene at Caffe Vittoria is always bustling with neighborhood Italians. They can be a bit unnerving if you want to enjoy your drink in silence; otherwise they are quite charming in an Old Country kind of way.
