I had an 11 am appt....you would think that a responsible person could wake up on time to get to work by 11, right? I am greeted by someone who has to stop cutting someone else's hair to attend to me.
my stylist comes strolling in 15 minutes late, doesn't introduce herself by name and brings me to the back to give me the most superficial wash I'm sure I've ever had. And, not exaggerating, the wash chairs were the most uncomfortable I've ever sat in. My neck was killing me during the whole wash.
So she seats me back down and I see her set aside a mangled black rag that I would only ever use to dust my furniture. If you're going to use a rag like that, don't let the customer see it!!!
She asks me how I part my hair, I tell her and she proceeds to cut noticeably in a hurry. By the end of the cut, I noticed she had started to cut my hair as if I parted it on other side. I told her, she said, oops, i'm sorry, and put the apron back on me and cut some more.
The place is bad and the stylist was bad
I will continue to post this same review on every site I know.

First, allow me to respond to the latest review - which, I'm convinced is written by the owner of the place:
1. He may be a talented hair dresser, but if he staff and his place is not quality, then does he REALLY care about his customers?
2. He maybe firm with his technique, but it's not coming out in practice
3. You couldn't PAY ME to get a cut there - at least not know that I know how the place works, read below:

I am shocked at negative reviews Leeba Salon has received. I am a loyal customer and have been getting my hair done on a regular basis at Leeba Salon for almost eight years. I have never left the salon unhappy.
#1) The owner, Saliba Shako, is by far the most accessible and talented hairdresser I have ever met. I was a walk-in many years ago and very unhappy with my hair cut and its color. I have very thick curly hair and at the time, my highlights were a mess. I didn't need to say a word to him, he gave me a haircut and corrected my color - and I have been going to him ever since. I actually moved to Worcester for a few years, and still drove to have him do my hair. Saliba can be found in the various locations and always makes himself available to me at a moment's notice.
#2) the other salon associates go through a strict training regiment with Saliba. I have witnessed it personally as he does my hair with them. He is very firm with his technique and I find it EXTREMELY hard to believe that any of the associates are not up to par. I would have to problem having another associate work on my hair.
#3) the prices are to die for. Leeba Salon does great work at very affordable prices. They are good to the their customers and I never leave there feeling pressured to buy products or unhappy with how I look. It goes without saying that after so many years, I truly walk in to the salon and don't need to say a word. I always leave feeling beautiful.
I honestly don't think anyone should put any regard to the negative reviews. I am still shocked! I've always said that if Saliba moved his salons to another state...I would move along with them.
Pros: highly skilled staff and technique, clean and welcoming atmosphere
Cons: NONE

Please be advised that this is the salon to AVOID. I had just moved here and needed a haircut for short hair. I called the salon and pre-booked an appointment with George, whom the receptionist commented that he does well with short haircuts. I arrived to my appointment and was told by the receptionist that George was not in that day and that I would be set up with the next available stylist, Denyse. I needed a cut so I thought I would give this young girl a fair try---BIG MISTAKE. I showed her a picture and discussed how I wanted my cut to look. She looked at the picture several times during the cut process. Although she was a friendly girl, I learned that she has no idea how to do precision cutting on short hair. I was left with a extremely short haircut on top and the bottom of my head was shaved--nothing like the picture. I would not recommend this salon to anyone in the future.
Pros: stylish decor
Cons: haircuts, staff

I'm really surprised about the negative reviews for Leeba; I must have lucked out. I took advantage of that haircut & color offer Leeba always has posted outside their door and was not dissapointed with the results I received from stylist Denyse. I have curly hair and have had a series of tepid haircuts in "nicer" salons throughout Boston. Denyse gave me great highlights and an easy cut that I can literally just wash and go and always looks adorable. She is very laid-back and chatty. I found the front desk staff to be friendly and overall the two times I've been it's been a low-maintenance, cheerful affair with great hair results. For a pretty affordable cut and color that will look great, I would definitely recommend Denyse at the Brookline Leeba on Comm Ave.
Pros: great cut and color

I have been coloring my hair for about 5 years now and this is by far the worst color job I have EVER received. I told the woman explicitly that I came in because of some discoloration at my hair line around my forehead. I get blonde highlights but for whatever reason around my forehead turns reddish between colorings. So I pointed this out as being my main concern and reason for the visit. After the foils came out and she washed my hair, the red was still just as profound. Noticeably upset, I pointed this out to her and she brought over one of the other hairstylists, George. He said he could fix it no problem. After he put foils in, washed and blowdried my hair, the area around my face was STARK blonde... like peroxide blonde and didn't match the rest of my haircolor. Leaving Leeba, I made an appointment at a better salon as soon as they could take me. I will NEVER go back to Leeba. They act like they know what they're doing so initially I had a lot of confidence in their ability but I'm kicking myself now for going back after a pretty awful haircut on my last visit.
The only thing I would consider going to Leeba for is their waxing... they are realllllly good with their waxing. But they will never touch the hair on my head again.
Pros: waxing
Cons: everything else

okay what's up with the greasy euro-mullet? Leeba @627 (629) Comm. Ave is very, very bad>Hint one, There is never anyone in the place. Hint two, the staff has that Euro trash vibe, etc.. Do not go here if you want a good cut or color because the only good stylists they had left last year! Maureen went next door to DELLARIA(623Comm Ave), and my boyfriend usedto go to Marat, but he left so now he goes to Maureen, who is awesome by the way! She does the best colors, foils, cuts and blowdries! Go to MAUREEN @ DELLARIA SHE IS THE BEST!!! Stay far, very far away from Leeba and anyone who works there.

have to say that its has been over 5-6 years since I have been at this salon. It is the one on Commonwealth Ave near Anthony's Pizza. I want to say the guy's name that used to do my hair was named Saleb?.....something like that, he isn't even from this country. He is a total grease ball. I had my hair done there one time and he insisted on putting reddish highlights in my blonde hair. I said that it wont stay. He didn't it anyway and it looked so bad. It looked like brownish red and the color was awful!! WHen I went back to get it fixed, he was really mad and told the other guy something in their language.....how rude to talk in front of a customer in a different language. I could tell from his tone that he was not happy. They put an overall color of blonde in and I left. My hair was dry. I went back to see if the experience would be any better..............this was when I said no more!!! I went in and Saleb looked like he was stoned. His eyes were glossy and after the haircut he asked me if I wanted to see the new massage room. I went up, so stupid!! He tried to flirt with me,.....I ran out!!! Lets say if I wasn't an18 year old college girl back then, I would have done something about it!! I am now 25 years old and wish I had, but I quess all i can do is write this review to keep other people esp girls from going there!!! I hope he doesn't work there anymore, but I think he was the manager or owner of that salon on comm ave. Do not go!!! They dont care about customers!!!!!
Pros: NONE!!!
Cons: DO NOT GO!

I would not recommend this place to anyone who wishes to have a good haircut. I got there on time for my appointment but I had to wait around for half an hour because the stylists didn't show up that day or something. So I had to wait around for someone to have a free moment to cut my hair. I told her (I wish I could remember her name) that I wanted to cut my hair really short and she told me that it wouldn't look good (or she didn't want to waste her time) so she trimmed my hair in about 5 minutes and asked if I wanted to have it naturally dry or have it blown dry. I told her I wanted it blown dry but it was her choice so she said I should have it naturally dry. So I paid someone 30 something dollars to cut my hair and leave the store with wet hair. It was a horrible haircut because it didn't even look like she did anything. Oh and she also caught her comb on my earring and told me in a nasty voice that I should have told her I had on earrings. And she also tripped and fell on me.
Pros: none
Cons: everything
