This bustling sub shop is a terrific source of low cost yet very tasty subs. It gets really crowded around lunchtime but the crowd is well worth it. They have a nice deal which includes a sub, drink, and chips for 6.50. About the best deal you can find downtown. The chicken salad is terrific and the bread is fresh baked on the spot.

These bagels are good tasting, but do not have the chewy shell that make a truly good bagel. Once I discovered the Finagle a Bagle down the street, I haven't eaten at Brueggers since. However, if Finagle were ever closed, Brueggers might have to pinch hit :)

This little bakery is across from another one on Beach Street. What makes it win over the one across the street is that the pastries and goods are better and fresher than the other one. In addition, there are some pastries and specialties that the other one doesn't carry but Crown Royal Bakery does. Overall, as the price is average as compared to the other ones in Boston, it wins many loyal customers.

Dancing Deer Baking Company does just what the name implies, they bake the most delicious cookies I've ever eaten. They ship their products all over the country and you can order on their website. I first heard about them when someone told how they give generously to the homeless. I like to support companies that are also good community partners.
Another thing about this company is their employees are all partners and share in the profits. This is something they should be very proud of in todays corporate greed and take-a-ways from their employees. I try to order here each Christmas when sending to family and friends.

For those of you looking for a good Chinatown bakery or cheap eats in the downtown/chinatown area, this is the place for you! The cakes and pastries are absolutely delicious. However, it is the Chinese buns they sell that are divine. Whether they are fresh out the oven or kept on warm burners for temperature control, you can hardly tell the difference! Only downfall is that you have to request these Chinese buns by type or by name at the counter to Chinese ladies that may or may not understand english, as they are not put on the counter displays. These are definitely worth the hassle of asking for though, as they are fresh and the environment/atmosphere is an improvement over the other bakeries in the area.

This place is by far my favorite place for hitting the books. I love the ambiance and the atmosphere, they also have some of the best coffee flavors in town. The people that work here are wicked chill and fun to talk to. The pastries are also one of my favorite guilty pleasure. This is also a good place to hang out and catch up with friends. Top notch as a cafe.

Cute name and dang tasty food! Finagle-A-Bagel is the tastiest bagel shop since Noah’s Bagels!
They have several locations around the Boston area; we had two lunches at the Boylston Street location. They have a nicely sized patio area there with several tables and two big umbrellas. The word must be out on the quality of their food because the line can be pretty long around the lunch hour—plan accordingly.
We tried two sandwiches: the smoked turkey on an onion bagel and the tuna melt on an onion bagel. While both were delectable, my favorite was the smoked turkey. It was absolutely perfect! The avocados and the generous portion of cheese really made for a delicious sandwich, MMMM! They have the standard bagged chips and sodas, etc, to go with your meals.
Now if only we could get them to open up a restaurant in Seattle…

They have really good bagels here, but who are we kidding, bagels are always delicious. Their bagels however are not as good as Panera but I do recommend the everything bagel with low fat cream cheese. It is delicious. They are very clean and the restaurant area itself is nice. They place has a good conveyor system of placing your order.
