Love this! I live here and have been on them a few times..... great way to entertain visitors for an hour or two. My best tip is to go early in the day because they get booked out VERY quickly in low season but especially in summer. The drivers are pretty quirky and some have driving skills that leave a little to be desired but that makes it fun. If you have anyone in your party who is a prima donna then don't sit near the back of the bus as when it hits the water there is some splash back. I had friends here in November and one got really socked and was freezing for the last half of the tour and whined a bit. The rest of us thought it was pretty funny.

The Boston Duck Tour is great fun for out of towners but even if you live here you can enjoy it - especially good to bring visitors. It is the most fun way to see the city quickly especialy for those that cannot walk long distinces. They bring you all around the city and give great commentary and then drop you into the Charles. Kids can even get a chance to help steer the boat. Best of all, you can quack at the onlookers...and if you are lucky they will quack back!

If you are looking for something out of the ordinary for a tour of Boston, this is the thing! It's a tank -like car that can also change and turn into a boat! You ride through the streets of Boston, see all the sites and then even take a ride up the Charles River. You are given a Duck whistle and are asked several times by the conDUCKtor to quack at passers by. Very fun and a great time for the kids too! You can get on your ride at The Museum of Science or the Prudential Center. It's not a cheap ride ($25 for adults) but they do give group rates and have wheelchair accessible access.

I went on a duck tour with my parents who were up from CT for the weekend to visit. We all enjoyed the experience--- the conductor was knowledgable, fun, and the tour itself covered all the main Boston attractions that any tourist (or tourist in their own city) should see.
The conductor also took the time to answer questions of other passengers. It was a good time for the kids on board as well--- as they were not bored by the siteseeing since they were busy "quacking" at passerbys

While the Duck Boats are a constant tourist favorite, I believe that locals with a good sense of humor should take the trip as well. The Duck boats are a really fun way to see Boston and the views from the Charles River. The drivers are the best part, adding their own individual flair to the journey.

The Boston Duck Tours is a great way to see Boston if you are a tourist experiencing it for the first time or a long-time resident who wants to enjoy what Boston has to offer. The tour takes you around the Back Bay and points out various places of interest. During the ride you will have fun quacking at pedestrians. After touring the street of Boston, the Duck Boat sets sail into the Charles River so you get to experience Boston from the river. The driver even lets passengers drive the boat. The Duck Tour is a fantastic experience.

At least once in your Boston adult life, you must go on a Duck Tour. People will quack at you. (Or you will quack at them.)
The idea of turning World War II amphibious landing vehicles into tour vehicles, like Lolly the Trolley, is a clever one. And the fact that each tour guide has a uniquely developed (sometimes over-the-top) personality certainly adds to the charm.
But really, at the end of the day, the best part of the tour isn't hearing all about historical Boston while you drive around in a giant duck. It isn't hearing all about nautical-historical Boston while you float on the Charles River. It isn't even the time when the tour guide who's dressed like a pirate lets the four-year-old child steer the boat. It's the magical time at red lights and intersections when people quack at you - everybody, or at least enough people, just know how to do this - that makes the Duck Tour worthwhile.

This is a great way to see the city. From land to sea you never know what you will see. Fun for kids and the young at heart, before you go think about buying your tickets online because they do tend to sell out quickly. If you are looking for something every one will talk about for years to come while on vacation this is something to do
