I've made a point to visit Cactus Creek every time I'm in Billings. The food quality and customer service has not missed a beat in all the years I've visited. The prices are very competitive and the atmosphere is everything one could ask for in a "classic" Montana setting.

I ate here with my sister and loved it. The atmosphere was great, and the food was awesome. It was a bit pricey, and the wine lists need to be refurnished, (They looked really worn) other than that, I can't complain. Be aware that you should go with somebody to get the combination plates.

Before leaving the west, we must stop at my favorite cow town dive bar. Billings is the heart of Montana’s cattle country. This former train town is home to one of the country’s largest bull auctions and home to one of my favorite dive bars. The Rainbow is where local come to mingle and sip on PBR. The menu also includes pickled eggs and pigs feet. If the ambiance is not enough be sure to test your skill on the shuffleboard table.

It isn't a visit to Billings without having a meal at Bruno's. Their salads are just the best ever, and I have never had an entree that I didn't like. This place is child friendly, as we have often brought the children, meals that they enjoy. Bruno's can be very busy, so the one downside is that you might have a 15 minute or so wait, but it seems to move fast. The prices are reasonable, food hot and tasty. Do highly recommend Bruno's for dining out.

Also in Billings was Mckenzie River Pizza. Mckenzie River Pizza is pizza with a western twist. They offer a fool menu accompanied by a full bar. My favorite pizza was the catch and release. This vegetarian pepperoni pizza is my favorite. You cannot go wrong with a side of lodge poles (bread sticks) They also have a wide range of salads. When I lived in MT their were only 3 now the have expanded to 12. So most likely you will find one wherever you are
