I love going to Vik's, because of its delicious food. Everytime we go there we know that there will be a long line and possibility of not finding a table but the food is worth all of them. Sometimes we end up eating in the parking lot but we love the food. The prices are very cheap and affordable for students. If you like cooking I recommend trying the spices from their store next door.

Viks Chaat Corner is located right next to their grocery store called VIK Distributors. My favorite at Viks is the Chicken Kathi Kabob with the Lamb Baida Roti a close second. On the vegetarian side, you cannot go wrong with the Bhatura Cholle or the Aloo Tikki Cholle. The Bhel is nothing special and stay away from the Pani Puri - just too much work. But, if you like the true chaats then you have to try the Dahi Papdi Chaat, Sev Puri or the Dahi Batata Puri - all three are really good and very fresh.

This place is really a distributor of food with a restaurant next door, under the same ownership. It's always bustling with lots of people ordering food, from the variety of regional cuisine dishes (Northern and Southern foods), drinks (try the Maaza) and desserts (try their Gulab Jamun!). The food is cheap, but that's because it's self-serve. You order, and you wait for your food to come out. There are barely any places to sit, so often times you have to eat at a standing table or just eat standing. The food is authentic, and hence lots of Indian people come here to eat. Most of their entrees are really spicy, so drink lots of water, or get a mango lassi to accompany your food.

viks chaat corner always makes the list of best bargain places to eat, and i would have to admit that the place is pretty cheap. for those of you that don't know, from what i understand chaat is indian snacks. at viks, there's a counter up front and you pretty much just order anything you want among all of the chaat. the food is alright, but i found that even though the menu is large, everything seemed the same, and most of it was fried.

This very crowded lunch spot offers tasty snacks and meals. There are a lot of fried items, so I'm not sure it's the healthiest Indian cuisine in the neighborhood. But it appears to be the most popular. I'm a special fan of the puri but my guy loves the dosa. Hard to go wrong. The ambience is bare bones. White walls. Warehouse-y.

House specialties include the Bhatura Chole and Masala Dosa. Don't gringo-out and get the chicken curry lunch plate. It's fine, but it's like going to Paris and eating at McDonalds. Everything on the menu is wonderful. Very crowded at lunch time though. Go early (before 11:30) or later (after 1pm). Closes at 6pm.
