If you ever plan game nights, family home nights, or whatever, you need to check out Games of Berkeley. Their selection is huge. Puzzles, board games, you name it: all the innovative games that don't require batteries and a joystick. Also, if your an avid RPGer, or are looking for a group to play, they allow people to use their basement room, and there's a bulletin board up for notices of ongoing games.

Games of Berkeley is located in Downtown Berkeley on Shattuck Avenue. It is on the same block as Walgreens and a Bank of America is right across from it. They sell a super wide range of games from board games to card games to other interesting games. The prices aren't that cheap but it's still a very nice store to visit.

Lots of different games. On football game days, they offere 10 percent discounts for evey one who shows them their ticket stub. The only thing I don't like about it is that we have to sign in our backpacks. It makes it appear as if they don't trust us, and the workers don't seem to have a nice attitude. Overall, if you can think of a game, it has it here.

You wonder how they put so much stuff into such a small space. Games of Berkeley in downtown Berkeley has basically every game anyone could ever think of. It's hard to find what you want, but the staff is friendly enough although sometimes busy with other customers. Just walk around and find something you enjoy and like. However, unless you come with a stuffed wallet you're not going to be buying much. Games of Berkeley prices their stuff very high.

Im not an avid board gamer, but I went to Games of Berkeley a lot when I was a college student coming home from school. Its a great place to pass time, because there are just so many different games, most of which are unheard of by even the most die-hard gamers. Be sure to check out this place if youre looking for a neat gift. Or if you think youre a Magic the Gathering master, test your skills amongst others during their tournaments, which are held throughout the year.

This is always a fun store to browse around in. They carry a huge selection of games of all types. They have your typical board games, and a selection of other board games that you may never have heard of, or that are collectors editions of the originals. They carry chess sets -- from the basic to very elaborate and expensive sets. They have video games, and role playing games, all kinds of card games, educational games, puzzles and more. They do carry some non-game items like stuffed animals, toys, magic supplies, etc. The store offers tournaments for serious game players, as well.
PROS: Excellent selection - including hard to find games

Games of Berkeley is a good compromise between a true gamer's store and a mainstream game/toy store, It has a lot of things that appeal to non-gaming familes as well as some 'transitional' games to invite such browsers to the world of more serious games. There is also a good selection of European games that are difficult to find at mass retailers. There is a decently sized section for roleplayers with books and miniatures from different publishers.
Conveniently located across from the BART station, Games of Berkeley is worth a good browse (at the very least) now and then,

Games of Berkeley has TONS of games for kids and adults. They literally have the largest selection I've ever seen, from regular board games (chess, checkers) to Dungeons and Dragon type role playing games.
They also stock magic tricks, jump ropes, jacks, all the things you remember from your childhood.
They have all the latest editions of role playing card games as well. I've even seen the Simpsons edition of Monopoly there.
Let your imagination run wild! Go to Games of Berkeley today!
