Even though I technically grew up in Davis, I feel like I practically grew up in this store. Every time that we went to the Bay Area for any reason, I would beg and beg to come here. It was basically a result of my intense obsession with Doctor Who. Nowadays the store's Doctor Who selection seems to be frozen a few years back (although they have great stuff, I don't see any of the new books or CDs coming in) but the rest of the place is as great as ever. It does what a bookstore should do, which is act like a labyrinth where space and time fold in on themselves. Especially a science-fiction bookstore. They have the best selection of anyone in most ways - everything Madeline L'Engle ever wrote, everything Terry Pratchett ever touched, even imported books from Britain by Pratchett and Pamela Dean and lots of other things that you normally can't get here. And tons of crazy toys! Oh, I love it.
