I've been to the Blue Nile many times since moving here, back in '94. I love the food, but we have experienced slow service a few times. My favorite dish is the Ye Siga Wat and the Doro Wat just falls off the bone. I've taken family and friends there and everyone has loved it, though my dad doesn't like eating with his fingers.
I'm not expert but I've been to 3 other Ethiopian restaurants, 2 in the Bay Area and 1 in Sacramento, and so far this is still my favorite.
Pros: good food, very friendly
Cons: no high chairs, sometimes slow

My husband and I recently had dinner here and ran out of yemeni bread before finishing all of our food. We requested more and they told us we couldn't have it. I explained that we were happy to pay for it, but after talking with two waitresses and the manager, it turns out that they have a policy that they refuse to sell anyone additional bread. Instead they brought two plastic forks to finish the meal. Even though they recognized us as regular customers, they were rude, condesending, and would not accomodate this simple and common request.
Needless to say, we won't be going back.
Cons: rude

Great romantic spot, but the service is slow.
Love eating with my hands, and the bread is always hot.
The beef tibs is great, and the lentil spicy vegeterian dish is too.
Pros: Spicy food, Ambiance, Inexpensive
Cons: , Crowded, Service
