...and the gelato is as good as ever, good luck picking just one flavor! They have moved to Trapelo Road, next door to the Studio Cinema. The sandwiches are scrumptious and the staff are wonderful; seating is limited. I miss the little store but am delighted to see how busy they are in the new location. Enjoy :-)

So many places are starting to pop up that say they have gelato. Real gelato is natural - ask for the ingredients! By this measure Angelato is second to none. The only place I've seen that keeps an approved ingredients list, and an unacceptable ingredients list. maltodextrin, polysorbate 80, and mono & diglycerides , have no place in thier gelatos. As for taste... Che Bravo!!

Rancatore's has the best ice cream in the area. It has a wonderful selection of ice cream as well as frappes and other ice cream products. And the flavors are tasty and unique. There are many topping choices as well. It gets especially busy in the evenings during the summer, so if you decide to go, be prepared to wait in a very long line.

The food was delightful. My daughter's ravioli was well seasoned as was the sauce. My husband's fish was fresh and tender with a subtly flavored sauce that enhanced the flavor of the meat without hiding it. The desserts were all wonderful, but especially good were the fried dough with chocolate sauce - like donuts only much better! The staff was helpful and prompt, at several points going out of their way to make sure our dining experience was a good one. The food is not Michelin star quality - but it was still delicious and it ranks among the best Italian restaurants I've been to in Boston.
Pros: great food, friendly staff, unique decor
Cons: they would not tell us how long the wait was when we called

This is the best Chinese I have ever had. The beef and broccoli and general chicken are my top favorites. Most of the menu is stuff that Americans would never touch, but then again, most patrons are not American anyway!

Named after a well-known Parisian Cafe on Boulevard St. Germain, and tucked inconspicuously into a corner at Belmont and School streets, this little cafe is absolutely unique. The french-lebanese owner, formerly of the Patisserie Francaise in Harvard Square, serves a choice only three entrees a night, prepared by him, which all come with french bread and a copious french salad for between $11 and $15. This is no-nonsense solid and tasty french fare (no tiny portions or fru-fru garnishes here). You can also bring your own bottle of wine (Belmont is a dry town) which is a major plus in the cost department. The decor is artsy, the ambiance homey. You can tell most of the clientele are regulars, which contributes to the homey neighborhood atmosphere. You can either choose to have desert here along with a cafe au lait, or indulge in the home-made ice cream two doors down.
They also serve sandwiches and subs during the day, but the real treat is the dinner fare and ambiance. They are, however, closed on Mondays (and maybe Sundays as well).

The food is great. There is a large variety of foods that you can choose from (e.g. pizza, subs, wraps, Greek food, sushi, and more). They also serve a variety of drinks (draft beer, wine, water, sodas, gatorade, powerade, and more). The employees are very friendly. It's also great for Birthday Parties.

Whether it's The Bean (love The Bean!!) or The Cheeseburger or the Farm Fresh - my wife and I have had Stone Hearth's healthy, hearty, yet light pizzas on no fewer than four occasions and have been duly impressed each time.
Most recently we ate at the resto and the service couldn't have been better or more helpful (kudos to the waiter that gave us a sample of a hitherto unknown yet locally-source light beer [that wasn't Sam Light!) - a sample that led to two large glasses on our table.
Well worth the trip to and even better than the extraneous hassles (e.g., parking) of sit-down pizza elsewhere (e.g., Harvard Sq.).

I was thrilled to see Cafe Fiorella when I first moved to Watertown about 10 years ago - they have very good pasta and pizza, fresh salads, reasonable prices, and really good specials. Desserts are also very yummy. This is very convenient for both eating in and takeout. They have another restaurant in Newton which is also very good.
