Village books is a must stop if passing through Bellingham. It resides in the fairhaven area of the town. It is not huge, but it has many unique treasure that are fun to browse through, and more often than not end up purchasing.
Because it is an old house, it is easy to get lost wandering around. It is quite fun though, because you never know what lies around the next corner. There is a great cafe inside upstairs if you want to take a quick break.
Nice place to spend a day with friends for independant and group reading.

They've got some amazing, gear, not the best vintage, but a few good tokens and they also carry probably the best shoes in Bellingham. It's a tad overpriced, but what're you gonna do? Also, they sell local artists on t-shirts! What?! Incredible.
PROS: Ty, Ty's face, the staff, etc.
CONS: Overwhelming aura of Hip, hipsters, hipster's lame friends, etc.

If you want deep fried seafood dirt cheap, head for Boss Tweed. My family of four can dine there for under $30.
Boss Tweed is kind of unique in that you place and receive your order in fast-food fashion, but get it at dine-in speed. They don't cook it until you order it. Then you sit at a nice table or booth, wait for your name to be called, retrieve your food and condiments, and dig in. Staff come around periodically to bring you extra tartar sauce or bring you more of your all-you-can-eat cod dinner.
The menu runs the gamut from fish & chips, other seafoods, bbq salmon (in season), to steak and burgers.
The All You Can Eat special is usually $6.99 and generally we buy two, plus a meal for our picky eater. The youngest boy just eats off our plates, ensuring we get our money's worth!
We really do enjoy Boss Tweed's eccentric style and flair.

While in Bellingham on business a group of us explored the Fairhaven section of town. This quaint little harbor side village was wonderful with small shops & very dog friendly. We stumbled upon this great little Italian Restaurant with excellent food and an authentic Italian atmosphere. The food was delicious & the waiter attentive.
We had a wonderful meal & a great time exploring the authentic old former Hotel building the restaurant was built in. There were other shops and restaurants also. We had a great time & I personally plan on visiting the area again.

I lived in B-ham a while ago, but I still miss the Co-op. Reasonable prices and that pleasant co-op, small town feel. They have an extensive bulk section (vinegars, oils, syrups, honey, dry goods, etc) and it's just fun to shop there. They also honor PCC memberships cards like their own.

I love the GreenHouse. I go there every time I want to find a unique gift or a new treat for my house. I think the owner's taste and choices are superb.
I go there first before I try any other store. I have bought furniture, kitchen ware, more kitchen ware a many of the decorative items. From brooms to couches, they had it all for me!
