The finance/business manager of the Bellingham King Hyundai dealership tricked us into purchasing warranties that we did not even have any idea how much we are charged for them since they were not itemized and had no price on the papers. I purchased a Hyundai Sonata 2009 car form the Dealership. In order to establish my credit I financed the car with 10.75% interest from them. The Credit Union was going to give me a loan with around 17 percent interest, however; the dealership said that they could provide us a loan with 10.75%. When I purchased a Hyundai Sonata 2009 car form the Dealership, I signed a $30205 contract (Vehicle Buyer Order) with them the night I purchased the car. They said that my wife's name is mistyped on the contract, and we had to come back the next day. We went there and they put so many paper including a contract of $35002 in front of us to sign. We had no idea that they changed the contract price this time to $35002 from the previous $30250 and we signed it among some other non-priced papers that were for protection coverage, prestige coating and anti-theft (with no price on them). Among these, the Protection Plus which was the extended warranty, was the only paper that had a value showing on it as $897. The finance manager however said that we could get a refund on that any time we did not want it. Therefore, we thought we were buying a car with the original price of $30250 and an extra $897 that we could always get refunded. After some days, we were looking at the papers, then we found out there was a price difference between the original order ($30205) and the one after that ($35002). I called up the company and said that they made a mistake on the contract. They said there were no mistakes and that difference was for protection coverage, extended warranty, anti-theft system and prestige coating. They said you signed for them and you could no

I recently bought Hyundai Sonata from Bellingham Hyundai. Regretably my experience at the shop was at best unsatisfactory for many reasons. Here I provide the reasons why I did not like the dealer shop and the tips for you to avoid them if you have to buy a car from them.
1) Bad price. I found that I got an awful deal with the dealer. I could have saved up to $2000 if I had been more careful. Before you do any deal, make sure you check out the prices others are paying at CarSpace Automotive forum ( http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/WebX/.ef17997/ ). There you can find the bottom line price you can suggest to them.
2) Xzilon coating. After you finish dealing on the car price, they will ask you whether you want $900 Xzilon coating to protect paint. You should NEVER fall for it because you can get the Xzilon at $55 on Ebay and do it yourself in an hour and a half. This is the biggest rip off.
3) You can always walk out of the deal any time if you feel that it is a bad deal at least until you pick up the car. If they tell you that you cannot, consider consulting Better Business Bureau at http://www.bbb.org.
4) Canadian buyers, Beware! They will want to deal in Canadian dollars and compare their price to Hyundai price in Canada. It is their strategy to make you believe that you are getting a good deal. Don't fall for it. In order to get the best deal, you should find out what other US customers are paying and deal in US dollars. In addition, when they calculate the final Canadian price, they intentionally leave out additional cost for you, such as day time running light installation and inspection fees.
5) Their Untrustworthy Attitude. After I found out that Xzilon coating can be bought at $55 on Ebay, I had to cancel Xzilon from Bellingham Hyundai. When I went there to pick up the car, the car was not ready. I asked a pin stipe tape across the side to be taken off b

I purchased a previously owned 2003 Sonata at an exclusive credit union event in May of 2004. I got a very good value for my money- I still have less than 40,000 miles, and even with a rollover balance from my trade-in, I still owe less than the value of my car after two years! I really appreciated the salesman's approach- conversational and not pushy. He gave me his card, and told me to let anyone else who approached me know I was already being helped. I sought him out when I was ready to crunch numbers, and there was no pressure. I also love that I get free hand carwashes anytime for life. I also received a VIP card in the mail which entitles me to free scheduled oil changes as long as I have my car. I invested in the 10 year, 100,000 mile warranty, and the guys in the service department have always been proactive with repairs- I had no idea my peeling interior door handles were covered by the warranty, but the guys asked if I had time to have them replaced free of charge! I am overall very satisfied with my purchase, and would definitely return to BH when myself or a family member is ready to make another purchase.
*edited* So, I just had a scheduled oil change at BH, and was not informed ahead of time that there is new management and they no longer honor my free oil changes. I paid $34 for an oil change that took 1.5 hours to perform- luckily I brought a book with me! (I was given a toll free number to call to seek reimbursement for the cost of the service). When I asked if I could have my car washed, I was informed the lot attendant was on lunch and they would 'owe me one.' I was very dissapointed with the service, and I will purchase my oil changes somewhere friendlier, faster, and more cost effective in the future. Not so sure I would be as quick to recommend this dealership at this time. I am 22 years old and will most likely purchase several more cars in Bell
