Judging a book by its cover. Worst Customer service in golf!!!! 9/6/2012

Stopped in today to see what the Superstore was about. They had a very wide selection of golf equipment and was very well stocked. This is where the greatness of the store ceases. Not once was I asked to be helped, I'm guessing its because I was judged on my appearance. Who could blame them, I have a full sleave tattoo, wore good kahki shorts, sleeveless shirt, not who you would see in a golf shop. Oh yeah, my sweat stained Taylormade R11S hat might have made me more of a hoodlum. I had to approach the front counter, after walking slowly through the entire store looking for the club that I wanted to buy, to get help. That was after I was admiring the really good looking computerized setup to look at swing speed, launch angle, ball speed, very high tech. I watched a gentleman hit some great balls and had at least 3 employees look at me as I was leaning on the fitment counter, not one word to me. This must have been a really good customer they were helping because everyone knew him there and chatted about facebook. It didn't matter that I was looking for help and advice, as far as they were concerned I was nobody. After having to seek help, I decided to try out a new driver to see if it hit like the woods. I am a high handicapper with this being my first real season. I have 60 rounds in this year and will hit 100 by the end of the season. The salesman treated me with the indifference of a child and let me hit the club. He didn't even put the shaft on correctly, maybe thinking I wouldn't notice. Bottom line is, I found the club that was sold out everywhere else I looked at this store. If it wasn't for the fact that I would have to order from my local I wouldn't have bought it from there. Still debating on returning it out of principal. If you don't look like a golfer then don't bother with this store. I got better service at Dick's when I stopped there. Maybe I needed to be one of the good ol boy's. DON'T SHOP HERE UNLESS ITS THE LAST RESORT!!!! more

Worst customer service ever 7/18/2012

This place never fails to destroy any chance I have of going back. Where do they get these people? They were out of a three wood I wanted, so I asked the clerk to check if it's available at another Puetz store. He looked on the computer, looked me in the eye, and said no. I went home and found it at online at another store. Please, I implore you, go to Golf Discount down the road. This Puetz store must die. more

Unprofessional, rude, salesman 8/13/2011

I've been a customer of Puetz since the late 50's and have been treated reasonably well by salespeople. Unfortunately I am writing to complain about Eric who works at the Bellevue store. Several weeks he was giving a putting lesson to show the customer how good a putter he was I waited close by and after 5 minutes asked him if he could answer a quick question. Without looking up while he was putting he answered "I'm busy now." with his back turned to me. This was a question that could have been answered in 5 seconds. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and left. I came to the store on Friday, 8/12 looking for a driver. I found one and had it kept an hour for me before I could return. I returned and Eric waited on me. I bought the driver, asked him to regrip it after showing him the the grip on the driver was too small. He took the club and told me it was the same diameter of the grip I'd selected. He took the club from me and showed me that HE gripped the club in his fingers, not the palm of his hand. I've played for 66 years, was a scratch competitive golfer/ clubmaker and didn't need a loudmouth like Eric inferring that I didn't know what I was talking about. I then showed him that while the butt diameters were the same, the actual grip on the driver was much smaller. He regripped the club for me. This was a used Ping driver and had mat marks and scrapes on the sole and numerous ball marks on the face and asked him if he would clean it for me. He looked at the driver, said that the marks wouldn't come off and didn't make an attempt to take the driver from me to check it out.....Obviously refusing to clean the driver. I was angry at his callous attitude, grabbed the cleaner and cleaned the driver myself, telling him that he was a tough assignment. I felt like telling him a lot more. He responded "Yes I am", tossed the receipt on the counter, turned around and left with not so much as a thank you. Puetz can't afford an employee like this. Pro Golf is just around the corner. more

A super store indeed 8/20/2005

What a great golf shop! The selection is just awesome here. And their pricing is so competitve that it's often lower than what you can find online. (That is really rare!) The staff there really knows about customer service too. They are helpful but not pushy. If you want to try a putter, they will give you a nice ball instead of a range ball. Oh, right now, they will give you a free round of golf if you spend $100 or more. So you should definitely come by here is you are looking for anything related to golf! more
