My son's favorite restaurant is Maggianos. He fell in love with it when we ate at it in Denver a few years ago. So after his graduation ceremony (Auburn Mountainview HS) we trekked from Auburn to Bellevue. Our two servers, Isaac and Chris, were phenomenal. We had a party of 14, with one boy allergic to dairy and my Dad who couldn't eat gluten. The chefs came to our table to make sure that all dietary needs were met (to the ultimate YUMs of my Dad and smiles from Jacob :-) I was wanting an appetizer that Sean and I had ordered in Denver and loved, yet didn't see on the menu. One of the chefs arrived to have me describe it, then she went and created something AWESOME with fried gnocchi’s and a cheese dip!!! Chris and Isaac were very attentive throughout our stay. Sean's dad knocked a wine glass to the floor while talking with his hands and he felt no embarrassment as it was swept up around him (he was standing at the end of the table :-) My friend Carl, who loves cooking, was given a tour of the kitchen! He is still talking about how cool it was. Our youngest family members were listened to carefully, photos were taken for us of the entire party, and humor, kindness and professionalism were present in all interactions. The food was wonderful, but the service made the meal a truly memorable experience. Pros: Tasty food, gluten-free food and excellent Wait-staff Cons: only one around in Bellevue

I've had the family style, appetizers and a couple of other doo-dads. It's not terrible food by any means.... it's decent. But overpriced and overrated- you're paying for the ambience. Oh and the food... the Chicken Fracesa was to die for... it was in a delightful lemon butter sauce that was perfectly paired with arugula in a white balsamic dressing and red skin potatoes. It was such perfection we extended our compliments to the chef... Shortly the sous chef Alex appeared at our table and suggested a remarkable cheese cake made from riccotta and marscapone with a fresh strawberry sauce... I mean dinner was heaven. I rarely clear a plate, but this was a sin to waste. I was a first time customer and now I am a lifetime one. I will be back... ASAP... Fabulous Fabulous Fabulous! Not necessarily worse than Armondo's in Renton--not necessarily better. Maggianos used to give a beautiful variety of breads (i.e. flatbread, molasses, sourdough, etc) prior to your meal, but decided to cut back; and now they have fallen into the "mediocre at best" rank, alongside Armondo's--featuring one type of bread. At least Maggiano's will heat the bread vs. Armondo's. Surprisingly, the Bellevueites along with those who venture into this beautiful city, still patronize this over-priced restaurant. You will often find yourself waiting for a table--but to be expected along that avenue of restaurants on a Friday or Saturday evening. Pros: Located near other great restaurants and shopping Cons: Very dark dining area--cannot see the total on the bill--noisy as heck too

Over time have experienced a few 'bumps' such as poor service with a large party. Once mentioned to a manager, however, they go out of their way to apologize and make us happy. Will always return! My husband and I tried this restaurant last night for the first time and loved it. We were going to see a movie across the street, and had our choice of restaurants, all of which looked good. We settled on Maggiano's because of their extensive menu and very reasonable prices. We were very pleasantly surprised. The server was quick, friendly and attentive the entire time. The food was perfectly flavored; I had whole wheat pasta w/marinara sauce and a gorgonzola salad. My husband had their fantastic tomato soup and salad - we were impressed! Keep up the great work guys...we'll be back. Pros: Fun and Relaxing Atmosphere, Tasty Food, Great Service Cons: Make a Reservation; they get busy

I visited Maggiano's once and that was one time too many. The service was atrocious and had boundary issues. Our server kept complaining to us about having to work on a nice day and how he wished he was still on vacation while the manager told us about how our server was in trouble for doing sometime out back that he wasn't supposed to. The food came in huge portions and was nothing special. The dining room was crowded and loud, I was dining with 5 friends and we had difficulty hearing each other the entire time. Please, don't waste your time and money. Pros: Enormous portions Cons: Bad service, bad atmosphere, mediocre food

A friend referred us to Maggiano?s. We called and made reservations for 6:00 (Friday 4/11/08) but then we read all of your mean reviews here on CitySearch and almost cancelled our reservation. We decided to try it because of the convenient location, and we are so glad we did. The restaurant is very nice, the people were great (and friendly), and the food was great! The portions are ridiculously large, and the prices very reasonable. You'd spend more at the OG and not have nearly the quality/taste/ambiance Maggiano?s has. The atmosphere is nice, yet not too proper that we wouldn?t bring our kids sometime. They were ready for our reservation, and validate parking from across the street. We?ll be back! Pros: Convenient Location, Good Food/Service/Portions/Price Cons: None
