Finally Moghul Palace has moved to a new location in July. DO NOT GO to the old 10th Ave.
The new location is on
120th Ave NE, street number is 677 next to a Taco Del Mar in the old Larry's market complex.
off NE 8th St. with plenty of parking.
My wife and I had an excellent meal last night . Can't wait to write about how much we enjoyed the dinner we've had.
The owner Mr. Malik greeted every guests personally and took orders attendantly. Our meal started with 3 appertizers : a garlic nan ( with marinated garlic sprinkled which I believe its the best in this area), mussel with special sauce (so fresh), and the delightful Pakora chicken (so tender and crunchy, slight breaded and fried but not greasy at all, I was told that they use only fresh halal meat),
followed with main courses of
Mughali Korma with prawns, a cream base curry with almond( a little salty but still good);
tandori mix which has varieties of meat. from the clay oven.
They were all delicious. Oh, the mango lassi is so refreshing too.
We had so much food and did not have room for desserts.
We will definitely be going back again soon.
I think I will try their weekend brunch buffet next time.
My opinion:-
Food quality: 5 stars
Hospitality, courtesy: 5 stars
Ambiance, Clealiness: delightful 5
Pros: Best Nan and curry in town
Cons: none

Really enjoyed our recent lunch. Offered a small but adequate selection. Distinct spices and flavors in each offering. Naan was nicely prepared. Try the rice pudding, which, even without my glasses, I should have been able to distinguish from raita. Price can't be beat.
Pros: Busy lunch place so fresh buffet items

When we lived in Bellevue ten years ago, this was one of our favorite places. We just moved back six months ago and have tried Mogul Palace twice just to make sure. The food is no longer good -- both times were a big disappointment. What happened? The lamb I had on the second visit must have been weeks old; it was dry, tough and tasteless.
Pros: none
Cons: food is not tasty

If you want to have a fast inexpensive and delicious lunch then this is the best place. As a software engineer I often do not have much time for lunch. In most other places you either have to wait or you can get a fast sandwich. Here you can get more than you can eat fast, very tasteful and I believe at a one of the lowest price. Over several years this is our dev team's favorite place and we always choose Moghul Palace when we need to take our customers and partners out to lunch.
I've been here with my family multiple times for a dinner as well. We were offered a good choice of food and attentive service.
Pros: fast, inexpensive, delicious, unostentatious service.
Cons: after such feast you cannot focus on your work anymore :)

The Roti was burnt, the reshmi kabab was stale and tasted chewy and when we called for someone, the owner took a bite of it from our plate and started defending.even the chicken biryani which the waiter recommended was pathetic and stale. We eat out a lot and we can easily tell the difference between fresh food and microwaved food....It was microwaved ....It was anything but a chicken biryani........We spent $ 50 for two + a three yr old.We did NOT like it leave alone enjoying the food....Not recommended...Awful waste of money...We have never left without tip...My husband is very generous about that but this was the first time we didnt leave a tip as we think they did not desreve it......Chutney's I think is better value for money...Fresh food, friendly waiters and nice ambience.I think Seattle has a good variety of Indian restaurants not only in the downtown area but also in the Eastside....We did not like the owner arguing that a dish is good without wanting to know what is wrong........Highly not recommended...Bad taste!! Dont know if BillG really goes there or must have been there once like us.
Pros: location in Bellevue Downtown
Cons: Bad food .....No value for money

I have been here a few times and have never been impressed. Apparently this is Bill Gates' favorite Indian restaurant and I am not sure why. I think Gates must try Mayuri in Bellevue or some in the UW area.
Our experience last week (pretty typical)
We tried the chicken tikka masala. It was an artificial orange and extremely spicy. We could not taste the rest of our meal. Restaurant was not busy but still had to wait 40 minutes for the food. They did not serve any papadams or other niblets like most Indian restaurants do.
If you complain about anything, you can expect a rude response. OK, I don't care about the service if the food is exceptional. But, food is mediocre at best. Not one item stands out and makes you comeback for that particular dish.
Alternatives:
South Indian Vegetarian (not the usual american indian food) - UDUPI at crossroads
Americanized Indian food - MAYURI - NaaN with Chicken Tikka Masala and Navarathna Korma
Tandoori chicken - Mayuri
Cons: service
