Tiffany and the staff there were wonderful during my first visit and went out of their way to make the experience comfortable. It was an impromptu shopping trip with my two little girls as I dropped a watch off for service. They helped entertain my girls so I could view a few items. I didn't feel they were condescending and I definitely didn't feel pressured. I'm pretty granola-style wearing Crocs, drive a Volvo stationwagon, and went to UC Santa Cruz. I had been going to AG for years to service watches and I always felt it was personalized and attentive service. I also enjoyed the easy parking and being away from the hustle/bustle of a mall. This was our first purchase there. Tiffany took the time to show me several watches and explain all the fine details. I finally bought my husband a Rolex GMT Master II a week later over the phone while traveling out of town. The gift to last a lifetime for Father's Day and about 20 years of missed gifts. I usually don't buy gifts for my husband because he is quick to buy items he loves. I already knew he had been eyeing several watches online, but I kept putting him off the idea because of impostors etc... Ofcourse it's not an issue at AG. BTW, they went above and beyond with everything including the details of packaging because I had it shipped and with follow up. I do not hesitate to recommend them.
Pros: Surprise, a cabinet of toys to entertain little ones.
Cons: Closed Sunday

I have to disagree with one of the previous postings. I personally don't want to buy a fine piece of jewelry online. I want to see it, touch it, and try it on to ensure that it is what I want. Alvin Goldfarb has allowed me this experience every time I have been into their store. Their sales staff is exceptional. They treat you kindly and are there to service you. I appreciate the excellent customer service I have had as it is hard to come by these days. Their prices are higher end but so is the quality and originality of their jewelry. I appreciate the unique jewelry they have as who wants something generic!

I just had my twenty year wedding anniversary and I needed to find a ring for my wife. I didn't want to buy something that you could find in a mall, and a bud told me to go to Alvin Goldfarb Jeweler. I went in a couple of weeks back and was helped by a nice lady named Katy (sp?).
I told her that I didn't know too much about jewelry, but what the occasion was. Katy took me around the store and showed me a half dozen different, really beautiful rings. While she was doing this, she asked me a bunch of questions about the kind of fashion that my wife liked. The sixth one was 'it'. She told me that she thought my wife would love this one. It wasn't the most expensive she'd showed me, but it wasn't inexpensive either. (After twenty years with me, I figured Donna's worth it!)
Katy introduced me to Sarah, who took care of ringing up the sale and putting all the paperwork together. I was introduced to Steven, Alvin's son, who took the time to chat for awhile. One of the things he told me was about this website, and he asked me to take a look at it and review my experience in his store.
I am happy to, especially after reading some of the whining comments I read here.
I know from being in retail when I was a kid, that a lot of people seem to think that their excrement has a particularly neutral aroma, but a couple of these were just wrong. I have to believe that they're from competitors, as I've now been in the Goldfarb store twice, and both times I've been greeted with smiles and great customer service. Sarah even remembered my first name, ten days after we'd met.
These guys were all great. Their stuff isn't cheap, but neither am I and more importantly, neither is the woman I married twenty years ago.
Thank you, Steven! For having a wonderful store and great people. I will be back. After all, Christmas is coming!
Pros: knowledge, customer service, quality of goods
Cons: none

I had a great experience getting a watch at Goldfarb's. I researched the watch online and visited the Bellevue store serveral times before making a decision. They were very helpful each time. I spoke to two different salespeople, Katie and Angela. They were great and no pressure. I was picking between a Rolex and a Breitling. I got the Breilting but I love watches so I am still thinking about the Rolex. Mr. Goldfarb sized the watch for me. I thought that was a nice touch. Price, service and knowlege were all first rate. It was their follow-up which made me want to write a review. I'll definately go back.
Pros: easy parking. nice people. great selection
Cons: not open on sunday

This was one of the worst experiences I've had purchasing jewelry. Cheryl was totally condescending, had terrible follow through and basically tried to find me the most worthless diamonds she could find and still fit in my color/clarity specifications. Obviously she didn't know I knew anything about diamonds, or was hoping not anyway. I was allowed to view the diamonds in dim light through a dirty jewelers loop attached to her mickymouse keychain, totally tacky. I can't believe the Goldfarb family actually puts their name on the building with customer service like this. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere, you will get better quality and service hands down.
Pros: nice landscaping, no other customers to wait in front of
Cons: quality, service, value, etc etc

bought a breitling down in Orange County, nice watch, but keeps falling apart, every time you send out your watch through Alvin Goldfarb it takes several months to get it back, kind of a long time to be without a watch and not know what time it is. They do a fair enough job and this probably wasn't their fault but when my watch came back from repair the last time it looked great except that the little fluorescent dot at the top of the bezel was alltogether missing. Not sure how that could even happen, it's pretty obvious. I haven't done a purchase there but all things being equal I should trade up to something that isn't going to fall apart quite so much so maybe I will go in and check them out.

Recently in Alvin Goldfarb Jeweler in Bellevue to purchase a Breitling watch during their Leap Year sale, and I was assisted by a woman named Katie. She knew her watches, treated me incredibly well even though the store was jammed. She answered all of my dumb questions, and then took me back to the sales desk where a woman named Sara took over. She made sure that the watch fit me so that I could wear it out the door, and she walked me through the sales process, so that I knew exactly was going to show on the receipt. While doing this, she offered to have my wedding ring cleaned and polished, again even though the store was jammed with customers.
I just read the last review by someone named Smithers, and all I can say is that he must have been in the store after imbibing if he had a bad experience. Sometimes in Bellevue you get those 'Bellevue Princes and Princesses'. Sounds like one.
I highly recommend Alvin Goldfarb for anything jewelry. You'll have fun.
Pros: Service rocked. Atmosphere was hectice but fun.
Cons: Parking could be better because access is tough off of Bellevue Way

I've never had another sales person in any industry remember my name, birthday, anniversary, family information, etc. She's tops in my book!

Alvin Goldfarb Jewelers in bellevue, washington is horrible. I actually had a custom ring made by them. They give you a great sell when you are looking to purchase a ring or jewelery but Alvin Goldfarb Jewelers in Bellevue fails to deliver on customer service after the fact. I have been in at least 5 times afer the fact and have been treated like a second class citizen each time. I would highly recommend finding another bellevue jeweler who actually cares about their customers even after the purchase. They are very expensive as well compared to other bellevue jewelers. DONT BOTHER!!! If you are looking for first class service and quality, I would recommend http://www.bluenile.com.
