Fred Meyer, as a grocery store, has a larger selection, and lower prices than any competition in the area. The place is clean, and freshly remodeled. As for everything else they offer, you can find better deals elsewhere. Staff is ignorant when it comes to technology, and so you should not go to them with questions. Use google and do some research! Parking is ample, and well lit.

This weekend I had three copies of a key made at Fred Meyer. The service was great -- polite and super fast. (In fact, when I asked the fellow at the door where to find the key-making machine, he called ahead and by the time I got to that end of the store there was already someone waiting by the machine ready to make the keys.) The price was reasonable. However, the keys did not work. Even so, I just had to give them a couple of stars because they were so nice, and I know that they will remake the keys for me without a problem.

Fred Meyer keeps their milk at a lower temperature than most supermarkets, and their produce is well-maintained. These signs of quality are important and help to balance a slightly limited inventory. The big hassle is checking out. The clerks are over-worked and sometimes the lines are long. The do-it-yourself check-out is frustrating when it asks for do-overs repeatedly. Nonetheless, one-stop shopping is a nice offset.
