The Bellevue-area Midas locations are not accredited with the BBB, so if they install faulty brakes on your vehicle you won't have this avenue available for restitution. Here's the email we received from the BBB about our complaint:
"Thank you for contacting Better Business Bureau regarding your complaint. We have attempted to contact the business and asked that they respond. We are disappointed to report that we have not received a response from the company. This company is not a BBB Accredited Business, and has not agreed to work with us to resolve complaints.

Good: Close to home. That's it.. Bad: They seriously botched the brake job they charged my $1k for by installing defective calipers.
They also crimped and tore the brake line while doing so and didnt tell us, which two independent shops later confirmed. This put me and my family's lives in serious danger.
Attempts to resolve this with the manager, Ken, were met with contempt, disrespect, and hostility.. Improvements: This is the repair shop that everyone warns you about.
Before going here, check the many negative reviews elsewhere on this caompany and this location specifically, and check the BBB for the many complaints.. Other: STAY FAR AWAY FROM MIDAS!
Your brakes are the most important part of your car, so take it to a real professional, not these hacks.
As recommended by Ken himself, I'm currently pursuing legal action against this particular franchisee - Autonex Llc - in order to recoup the additional money I had to spend in order to properly fix the vehicle..

I brought my car to fix related to a/c and they promise me they can do it and told me it is so important to do it, with a high price. I want it to be done so said yes. When they told me fixed and I drove back home, I noticed the problem is still there so next day I have to drove to let them know. This time they told me it need even further pay to finally fix it!!! I am stuck there to do not know why they do not tell me earlier before did their expensive useless work. They just ask me yes or no - if no, they will do nothing more with about $300 charged labor already. What can I say? I have to drive back and until now, 2 years after, the problem is still there:(

I live in Seattle, I have been to so many garages in town trying to solve Idle issue of Dodge Pickup as well as rearend grinding.....Two garages later and over $4000 I have replaced rearend and Idle is still not normal (engine dies if I don't keep foot on gas.....I finally head east to Factoria, to find Midas Factoria, they took rear apart and checked it all out...fluids and examination find all clear but questioned fluids used at other garages....They fixed the grinding sound and the Idle was a chore as well but all repair done! The cars of today are a nightmare to work on..parts are pricey but labor is high because of all the parts that need removal to get things replaced or adjusted.....all garages have same basic books per hour/time and repair estimate, its what they do with it is why you may find a garage elsewhere so pricey, and dealers will really send out over the top....These men and women at Midas are doing a job that you would not want to attempt at home...they will repair and will eye ball other situations that need attention, and all garages should. Brake jobs are no longer just replace pads, engine tuneup is not just replacing spark plugs...if you question price of work or mechanics opinion go grab a Chiltons repair book on your car and see what a mess you would face...you need a degree to figure these car repairs of today..Love ya Midas Factoria!!

I went to bellevue downtown Midas to change my brakes and they overcharged me with 500$ more..Though the front desk person is friendly..They actually will rip you off at the background..
They changed Rotor, brakes and hardware(which was not mentioned in initial quote). Even after changing the brakes, it does not work fine (infact, brakes became worse after it was changed by Midas)..and it gave weird sound when I apply brakes..I feel very bad that I spent so much money to see nothing working..
BEWARE of MIDAS and better get everything handled elsewhere..

For the overall quality of service, this Midas is overpriced. My husband and I take our cars to the Seattle Midas but decided to have one fixed here since it was close to work.
Their price on parts is ridiculous. This is beyond comparing retail at Schucks versus 'shop mark-up'. The price on parts are comparable to the dealer, the shop fees are the highest i've seen, and they will feed you a bunch of BS about it.
The labor rate is fair given it's location in Bellevue, but they sure are milking it. It may be worth the drive over to Seattle for that reason alone. As far as the quality of workmanship, let's just say I left this Midas with ruined wheel studs and one less hubcap.
While the counter people are very friendly, be very wary and get a second opinion from another shop before agreeing to anything at this one.

Really bad experience with Midas close to Factorial Mall. I have my car with small problem but they describe it as a big problem and double priced me which I confirmed from the dealer. The worse is that when I told them they overcharged me and gave the real parts price, they just change their face to ignore me without giving me the reason why they charge so much!

I asked them to replace my car battery and was told it would be ready in an hour. When I went back to pick up my car, the invoice showed they conducted a battery test and analysis on the 6 year old battery and charged me $25.
They should not have done this battery test and analysis thing since I was purchasing a battery from them and the old battery would be discarded anyway. I talked with them but was told that the service was performed so I had to pay.

Responded to an advertisement for $89 brakes. I thought my car only needed new brakes and Midas came back with a $1400 list of problems that were "dangerous" if not fixed. I took the car to another shop and they found none of the alleged problems and in fact stated that the brakes probably didn't need to be done for another 15-20,000 miles. This Midas cannot be trusted and is boardering on criminal behavior. Save your time and money and go to another business.
