... Or at least that's what they say in their commercials. In the case of Ron Jon's Surf Shop, there is truth in their advertising. This is a great surf shop and though they have expanded to a few stores around the country, the LBI location is the original one from 1959. Of course, it's expanded over the years, which is great for those looking for surf clothes, wetsuits, boards, or rentals of wakeboards, surfboards, wetsuits, or canoes. The store is pricey, not surprising considering its location several hundred feet from the beach. Still it's worth a visit and don't forget to purchase one of their iconic bumper stickers.

Imaginative and eclectic food on LBI. While expensive, Blue is the most interesting place to eat on LBI. Menu constantly changing but filled with superbly seasoned and sauced, fish and meat. Innovative appetizers and desserts. Large and airy dining room, generally attentive staff make this an excellent experience. Reservations required in season. The lobster mashed potatoes are out of this world.

I, for one, am a huge fan of fudge, and ever since I first entered the Country Kettle Fudge Shop so many years ago, I have alway been aching to go back as often as possible to get some more fudge. The Country Kettle is not only a shop for fudge, but it is also a great place for entertainment, as you get to see the great process of the fudge making. What a great place. A must go for anyone visiting Long Beach Island.

We've been going to the Boat House for years! Great waterfront sunsets, great fresh fish and lobster, great service. What else can you say! Oh yeah - and reasonably priced. It's our favorite place on the island!
Pros: Unbelievable sunsets, fast courteous service, great food. Kid/family friendly.
Cons: Sometimes there can be a line to get in.

My friends and I go to LBI twice a year for a little reunion, and always go to the Bywatyr Shop for gifts!!! We love just looking through all the different unique gifts. This shop has been there since I was a little girl!! So nice to see places like this still in business

If you want an article of clothing with "LBI" written on it, this is the place to go. Sweatshirt, t-shirts - both long and short-sleeved, sweatpants, you name it, this store carries it. They have sizes for babies to adults, in all sorts of styles and colors. Be prepared to spend more than you might expect, although their clothes are typically of a high quality. Try to hold out until end of season or fall sales, and you'll really be able find some good deals.

It's probably the largest day spa on the island, but biggest doesn't mean the best. Although the services are enjoyable, the prices can be high, and I've received other services elsewhere that were more thorough, in a more aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. On a rainy day, be prepared to have to fight for an appointment, but regardless of the weather, you should call at least a few days in advance for an appointment.

Small water park, but the only show in town. Seven water slides -- nothing intense, but still a good ride. Better for kids than adults. There is a lazy river but it's a little too much on the lazy side. The kids area is good for toddlers. The price is $18.50 for 2 hours in the park, which is definitely enough time to wear out the water slides and the river, I think. The highlight? A towering water bucket that looms over the park and dumps gallons and gallons of water on everything below every few minutes.
