For anyone with children, no trip to Long Beach Island would be complete without a visit to Fantasy island. Although you have to be prepared to drop a good amount of money for arcade games, games of chance, rides for the kids, miniature golf, and snacks, it really is a fun and safe way to spend a few hours. There are typically some special entertainers on hand, such as magicians and handlers with exotic animals. A trip here is sure to be a memorable occasion for the whole family!

Located right on the Boulevard near the causeway in Ship Bottom, Flamingo Mini Golf is a Long Beach Island classic. Don’t be put off by the look of this place – it’s not exactly thick with lush vegetation and waterfalls – but realize that this is mini golf at its best. Some extremely creative holes and many many opportunities for holes-in-one, so that’s always nice. And not that expensive. Be warned: in the evenings, this place is jamm packed.

Small water park, but the only show in town. Seven water slides -- nothing intense, but still a good ride. Better for kids than adults. There is a lazy river but it's a little too much on the lazy side. The kids area is good for toddlers. The price is $18.50 for 2 hours in the park, which is definitely enough time to wear out the water slides and the river, I think. The highlight? A towering water bucket that looms over the park and dumps gallons and gallons of water on everything below every few minutes.

This is an excellent place for young children. Well maintained, well staffed, very clean and alot of fun. Not too much going on to overwhelm the children or to break your wallet. My son is 4 and this is perfect for children his age. I highly recommend taking the trip there.

Nice course with good scenery and creative holes. This is actually a fairly difficult course. It’s located right on Long Beach Boulevard in Long Beach Island so that’s nice – good, convenient location. Note that there are often coupons in the SandPaper and Islander newspapers so check that out to save some money. As with all other mini golf courses here, the Sand Trap is packed at night so try going in the morning for a less crowded experience.

Island Golf is another great mini golf course on Long Beach Island. Also located right on Long Beach Island Blvd, its location is very convenient as you don’t have to leave the island. Tropical and pirate-themed course is a good challenge and has some creative holes (and some not-so-creative ones). It’s not the best course on Long Beach Island, but it’s worth a round. Note that it becomes very, very crowded in the evenings, so plan accordingly.
