I would never have thought I'd drive 30 minutes or more to an airport when I could drive 10 minutes and take public transportation to another airport, but I do. BWI's main advantage is that SouthWest flies out of BWI, so the prices are usually better. I've also never had trouble parking at BWI, although I often go right to the Express Service Parking (ESP) because they pick up and drop off right at your car, not just nearby. I find security and check-in are not great, but never terrible. There are also adequate places to eat in the terminal.

Nail Turbo almost always has drop-in availability, and it is conveniently located. They do a nice job - my manicures and pedicures usually last a good long time. However, the shop itself is pretty close and stifling, and the technicians are not very friendly. You can not beat the price, though!

If you do not want to walk around downtown but need to get around without a car, the water taxi is the way to go. It is a bit pricey sometimes but it’s a nice ride across the harbor. Unfortunately there was a terrible accident that resulted in death last year on one of the boats. My suggestion is to walk around instead, especially if the weather is nice.

So what trip to Baltimore is complete without riding a duck? Yes, I said riding a duck. No, not the little feathered things that quack, but one of the fleet of amphibious vehicles that you'll see cruising the streets of downtown Baltimore. These things are amazing. Climb on board and you'll take a tour of the streets of downtown, but it doesn't stop there. These are amphibious vehicles, so you're going right on in the water hon! An absolute MUST DO when in the area. Oh, and the duck whistles shaped like a ducks bill and providing an pleasant yet annoying duck call will be a hit with the kids for sure!

Baltimore Washington Airport is easy to get to. The roads are clearly marked. The time it takes to get through BWI is fairly quick for a large airport. Parking is decent, but not as easy as some other airports in the area. Baggage claim is acceptable. There are many shops. The waiting areas are decent. There is plenty of food in the area of the airport. It can be difficult to get to or from during heavy traffic times, but the signs are very clear to help you get there. Overall it's a decent airport, but could be made better in many ways.

Our family stayed at this suite hotel recently and were very pleased. They have different size suites from studios to deluxe ones. Ours had a decent sized refrigerator with a small kitchenette (no stove though). The hotel was located about a 10 minute walk from Inner Harbor. The staff was very kind and even offered our family tickets to the Orioles ball game which our kids really enjoyed. I would definitely recommend booking through their website because they offer packages at rates that are less than their rates for just a room if you booked it over the phone. Their site's rates were cheaper than all the discounted travel websites. We enjoyed the Aquarium package and the Family Movie Night package. The suite was roomy enough and we would definitely stay again.

I frequently used Jimmy’s Cab last year for about 2 months. Although the drivers were always polite, they tended to overcharge, I felt. A good thing is that they have GPS in all their cars, so thank God, they can’t get lost. Also they take your name down when you call so you don’t get your cab stolen by someone else.

I have had bad experiences with yellow cab. I feel like they always overcharge me. And I think that they get lost sometimes. I really only ride them because I have no choice, they are usually around the Hopkins campus. Anyway, I just don’t like this overpriced cab company. Or maybe it’s their drivers.

I have only stayed at Hopkins Inn once, so this review is a little limited. They are overpriced. The rooms are nice, but the building is old. If you don’t mind that things are a little old and therefore has an appearance of being dirty, go for it, especially if you like antique-style hotels.
