Port Discovery - The Children's Museum is not just for children. It is a great place for children, adults and even teens. When it first opened I went on a date with my high school girlfriend and had an amazing time. It was fun reliving a peice of childhood. Adults can get something out of Port Discovery - The Children's Museum as well. While it is not cheap, I don't believe its any more expensive than any other museum in Baltimore. I highly reccomend a visit for children and adults alike!

If you love Pizza (REAL PIZZA) not the commercial grade Domino's crap that is mostly sold in the DC/Baltimore area then the place to go is Gil's pizza. It's a tiny shop right off Belair Road in Baltimore. You will want to get carry out b/c there is no place to sit and eat it. The pizza is made right in front of you, the dough thrown in the air and all. It's not like the employees are trying to put on a show for you that's just the way they do it. You would never know it from the outside but this little shop is the perfect place for your average, no-nonsense, NY style pizza.

Vaccaro's is definitely the perfect stop for a dessert night. Their famous canolis are amazing, but I particularly enjoy their candy bar Sundaes which are loaded with scoops of gelato and a big piece of Candy pie. Best desserts in Baltimore!

Actually, the name of this museum is the Walters, not Walter. This is perhaps one of the best art museums I've ever been to, and it's practically hidden in Baltimore's Mt. Vernon area. Admission prices are rather steep, but they often have free or $1 Saturday morning admission if you can wake up early enough. I especially enjoy their collection of medieval artwork and suits of armor. Lots of fun-- easily an entire day's worth of education and entertainment!

My wife and her family turned me onto Gil's about 10 or 11 years ago and let me tell you, anyone who doesn't like their pizza needs to be sent away and locked in a rubber room. I have had pizza from NY to Fla and from MD to OK and this is #1 in my book.
Pros: BEST PIZZA IN THE FREE WORLD
Cons: location

My husband and I had a rare night without our children so decided to go to Morton's for dinner. We had a wonderful experience. The food was great and we had tons of leftovers to take home. Our server recommended that we try the new carrot cake, which was delicious. Although, nothing beats their hot chocolate cake. We'll definitely be back.
Pros: Food, waitstaff
Cons: location not the easiest to find

I went to Brewer's Art with a group of 10 people to celebrate my birthday. The accommodations were easy for them, even at the tail end of restaurant week. We got in a little earlier than we would normally eat, and the service remained impeccable throughout the busy dinner hour. The food was really amazingly good, and their beer and drinks were great too. After dinner, we went down to the charmingly almost-divey bar. It was a blast!
