On New Year's Day, and we had an Emergency situation w/ our family dog. 1/1/2014

On New Year's Day, and we had an Emergency situation w/ our family dog. F.R.A.H. was the Only Vet. Clinic in the area willing to assist us. The Staff was Polite, Professional & Instantly Attentive to the issues at hand. We felt Immediately relieved as we realized our beloved companion was in the very Best of hands. It's refreshing to know that they, (like good neighbors,) are there & can be depended upon 24/7, to provide Top Quality Service when situations arise. Thank you all very much. Sincerely, Eric more

Money Hungry 6/29/2013

Delay in diagnosis, extravagant tests ordered and were told they came back "inconclusive" and additional testing was needed 7 1/2 year old beagle taken to Falls Road Animal Hospital on May 23 for increased thirst and urination. Routine bloodwork completed, and we were told that she likely had Cushings Disease, and were told to bring her in for additional bloodwork or an ultrasound, however, we were advised to complete the bloodwork panels before the ultrasound. Both Hi and Low dose suppression testing done (literature search reveals that these are outdated practices, and if the low dose is inconclusive, the high dose should not be completed). We were told that both the Low and High dose testing came back inconclusive, and she would need an ultrasound to confirm the diagnosis. Medical records were obtained for a second opinion, and 2 different vets (independent from one another and Falls Road Animal Hospital) confirmed a diagnosis of Cushings and believed that the second supression test as well as an ultrasound were excessive and unnecessary. Of note, at the time records were requested for both of my dogs, a request was made for a prescription refill, and I was told that they would not refill the medication as I was going to a new vet and they could take care of the refill. It was not until I expressed in great desperation that I was completely out of the medication, that I was given a 14 day supply of the medication which was not called into the pharmacy until the following day, when I inquired about the delay, I was told "the tech got busy and forgot to call in the prescription". I was also informed by Falls Road Animal Hospital staff that I was only being given a 14 day supply because the dog needed follow up bloodwork. After review of the records by 1 other vet, I was informed that bloodwork at this point in time would not give accurate results of therapeutic levels as the dog had not been on the new dose of medication for a long enough period of time. more

You get what you pay for 6/23/2011

I made the mistake of taking my dog elsewhere to be spayed. She was sent home that same evening with no pain medication. I was told she probably would not need it. Later that evening she kept whining, and couldn’t get comfortable, I guessed she was in pain. Frantic I called the place where she was spayed, they were closed with no number for emergency contact to them. Luckily my friend gave me the number to Falls Road. I called them and was given some at home advice with the recommendation to bring her in if condition worsened or remained the same. I ended up at the hospital a few hours later. The staff was great, going over at home care, medications, and warning signs to look out for. They gave me the option of keeping her overnight, and although it was more than I had hoped to pay, I wanted the reassurance that she would be monitored by knowledgeable staff round the clock. All in all, where I thought I was saving money I didn’t, I found out that her spay would have been cheaper going there in the first place, AND they automatically keep both male ad female animals overnight. I am telling everyone I know to go here. You get what you pay for, superb care and a clear mind. Thank you Falls Road for being there when I needed you. more

The vet saw her right away, and my cat is now home and recovering 6/21/2011

My cat developed some troubling UTI-like symptoms when we were visiting Baltimore last weekend, so I took her in for an emergency visit on Saturday. I mostly just wanted to make sure she wasn't really sick or dying. The vet saw her right away, and my cat is now home and recovering from stress-induced cystitis. more

The staff was friendly and really seemed to care about my pets 6/20/2011

Maybe this vet has gotten a lot worse over the past year, but when I took my animals to them about a year ago, they were wonderful. The staff was friendly and really seemed to care about my pets. The only complaint I have is the waiting time, but I only had to wait when there were people in front of me, not when nobody else was there, like some other people said. They are the only vet I know of in Maryland that treats guinea pigs and is open 24/7. Their prices for flea, tick, and hartworm medicines are actually cheaper than the vet I had been taking my dog to, so I don't know why people complain about them being so expensive. If I still lived in Maryland, I would still be taking all of my animals to them even though I live almost an hour away. more

Thank you Falls Road for your wonderful service! 6/14/2011

For everyone who thinks that Falls Road is un-ethical un-professional and uncompassionate when it comes to care and payment for our animals let me ask you when the last time you have been to the doctors or dentists? I went to a dentist for an emergency tooth ache, they charged me an emergency exam fee before I was seen. And then referred me to an oral surgeon the next day. I went there, the dentist came in looked at the x-rays quick look in my mouth and said, ok it needs to come out, I'll send someone in with a treatment plan. The plan was the receptionist to schedule my recheck and the ask how are you paying for today's visit? Taking my card running and me signing the receipt before the treatment. My point is that this is common practice anywhere you go. Don't get flustered and take it out the employees or owner. You want to blame someone blame all the people who have taken advantage of practices that they all have to start doing this. Falls Road is not only open 24 hours with a shock trauma team of employees and facility available, but they give wonderful service and care. I have yet to have a terrible experience, when I have over booked myself for that day and found myself rushed I learned not to do that again in the future. I go to Falls Road because I know that I will receive great care, my animals are happy I am happy and am relieved to know that the same Doctors will be caring for my pet in time of emergency. Thank you Falls Road for your wonderful service! more

I'll be bringing my kitty here for all of her needs. 6/9/2011

I took my new kitty here after several recommendations from friends and co-workers. My first visit wasn't the greatest. I took Josie there right after I adopted her for a checkup and I got a vet ( I won't mention names) that wasn't that great. He looked in her eyes, listened to her heart, picked her up and said "she's good". He seemed a little cold and distant, perhaps he was busy. He asked if I had questions as he was walking out the door. So when I had to bring her back I asked for another vet. I got Dr. Adkins. I REALLY like her! She was very gentle, thorough and patient. She even just stood there and asked me "do you have questions? Since this is your first kitty?" and stood and waited while I asked my questions. I was shocked! I'll be bringing my kitty here for all of her needs. :o) more

nothing but kind 6/3/2011

We've had three dogs taken care of at this facility and have never encountered a problem. The staff have been nothing but kind, caring and professional. Our puppies never have any fear coming to the vet- they've always been well taken care of. Kudos to Dr. Kim Hammond and his staff! more

Very Grateful 6/2/2011

Very Grateful: I had to take my animal to the vets during the middle of the night. The people were so kind and helpful to me. Everyone showed compassion and a genuine concern for my pet and I. I can't thank them enough for saving my pets life. I will be eternally grateful to each and everyone who was there more

comfortable 6/1/2011

Our dog, Guido, arrived at your hospital on Monday evening in grave condition after an attack by two dogs, one of which is a mixed pit bull. Guido is going home today! I have been wanting to send you a note to let you know of a couple of employees that have been very caring as I visited him daily. Dr. Burks and Anthony have been patiently answering my questions and have explaining his condition in a compassionate manner. Also, one of your techs, Kevin, made me feel very comfortable when I was visiting. Another man whose name I do not know, (older man with grey hair) was very kind. The receptionist that helped to check us in took my daughter back to help wash more

Very professional 5/4/2011

Very professional, yet courteous and understanding of my relationship with my cat. I was informed at every step of the care and treatment and, when appropriate, was allowed to enter the treatment area to see him. You will not go wrong in trusting your pet in their care of the vets and their staff. more

Best price 5/2/2011

Best price for spay/neuter, but would get other things done elsewhere. Great for emergency situations (open 24 hours). more

good experience 4/26/2011

I had a good experience at Falls Rd when I brought my rat in to have an abcess looked at. The doctor was very kind and patient, didn't try to push any tests that I couldn't afford (perhaps because of patients species), and had no trouble holding and treating my rat. I paid only $40 for a visit, needle aspiration, and 2 Rxs. By the next week my rat was happy and healthy. more

enjoying coming here 4/21/2011

The staff treat Sadie very well. I think she is enjoying coming here. more

grateful 4/13/2011

I was so overwhelmed with the condition of my pet when I arrived at Falls Road Animal Hospital in the middle of the night. I was so grateful they were open. The staff immediately assessed my kitty's condition and took him back to be examined right away. They put my fears to rest and took great care of Felix. I actually switched my vet to Dr. Hammond, he's the best in Baltimore. more
