What I love about Broadway Bikes is that the guys in there are completely devoted to customer service. The first time that I went in, my bike was ready an hour later than quoted, so the manager gave me a 50% discount. The second time, I went in because my brakes were squeaky, and the brakes were tightened and cleaned at no cost. I am not an expert biker by any means, but they never make you feel stupid or unimportant for asking silly questions - great shop!

This sports store has everything from bikes to skis to rollerblades. They also have a huge stock of various sports clothing, especially for winter sports such as skiing. The service is incredible and they guarantee all of their products. The one problem is the prices are outrageous. If you want good quality merchandise and good service, and you are willing to pay for it, this is the place to shop.

The Fells Point Surf shop caters to your typical teenage non-surfing surf rat. They come in and buy t-shirts and stickers but don't even know how to surf. The store sells all of the gear I need as a surfer and at really good prices. They have great sales too. Good for me that I'm one of the few that do surf and take advantage of the sales.

One of the great things about Baltimore is that it is great to WALK or run in. It's easier then driving everywhere you need to go and the exercise is good for you.
For the person who is in to exercise and cross-training this store is a great find. They have a really helpful staff and a great product selection. When I went there last time I had one sales person spend a half hour with me trying to find the right type of shoe for me and never once did I feel like I was an inconvenience.
Great store to shop at for walking/running gear!

Yo could be running on the wrong shoes! I went to the Falls Road Running Store on the recommendation of a friend and I am so glad I did. These people know running and they how to fit you with the proper shoe. I will never just go buy running shoes anywhere else ever agin.

I have delt with Fire Fly on and off for about 30 years now more so the first 15 than the last but still delve back once in awhile. I have never had a bad experience and many a time I could've. But the staff always had a decent sense of humor and full of suggestions and comments. They have fitting rooms and the only items I wasn't allowed to try on were...well ones that I wouldn't have worn if someone else tried them on. (for hygenic reasons). Considering that it is an adult shop I am a plus sized woman and you can imagine how humiliating a scene like this could be if the people weren't conciderate. Anyway if you go back I hope you have a better time, eveyone has a bad day.

I know Kmart has a reputation as a not-so-nice department store where people go who can't afford anyplace else. I however found this Kmart in particular to have plenty of quality items that were exactly the same in pricier stores for less moneyl.

What I like most about the Urban Adventure company is that they make explicit something many of us have already caught onto: that many people who claim to love the outdoors are really making a fashion statement. Many people who drive SUVs will never go off-roading. I do not necessarily see this as a problem; if people want to communicate to others some sort of membership in an imagined community of shared values, why not let them shop in peace? This is not to say, of course, that people who really are into the outdoors cannot find what they are looking for at the Urban Adventure Company, but they may be able to find it for alot cheaper online or via some sort of hunting/fishing company (though one notes, the politics tend to be different).
