Ze Mean Bean Cafe has always been a delight to visit. On top of having very good Eastern European food, they have a fairly regular schedule of live music appearances. The times I've gone, these have always been very good--particularly the classical guitar trio. The atmosphere is very cute and homey, and always makes me want to come back again. They also have a very good wine list to choose from! http://www.zemeanbean.com/

Ze Mean Bean Cafe is a great little place in Fells Point to meet friends for coffee. There's limited seating, but in the spring and fall it's best to sit outside. The place has a very interesting menu...it is a little Eastern European cuisine with excellent dessert and wine choices. From time to time they have live entertainment.

My friend and I ate at Ze Mean Bean after hearing several rave reviews of the place. I do not see what the fuss is about. The food is incredibly overpriced--I don't mind paying more for quality, but there was nothing special about this place that warrants the extra cost. The food itself is decent, but definitely not anything better than you'd find in a chain restaurant (in fact, I'll take the chain restaurant food). This place is hugely overrated, and I would not recommend dining there.

What a special place this is. Warm, homey, and wonderful. This wine-bar/café is the perfect place to sit and relax with good friends. And where else can you order Slavic specialties, such as pierogis and holupki. But if Polish food isn’t your thing, no worries, they have plenty of mainstream dishes to choose from. So, if you are a Baltimore native or just in town to see an O’s game, check out this gem of a restaurant, at least for a glass of house red.
