Why does everyone love this place so much?
It's perfectly OK and the bread is fantastic. But if you get stuck in the back room, the atmosphere is terrible and the tables are way too close together.
And the prices-- sheesh.
I think this is mostly the Emporer's new clothes. Because it's impossible to get a reservation on weekends, everyone thinks it's the place to be (it's not-- Pazo is) .
That being said, the food is good. And if you go on a non-weekend night, and don't order more than one glass of wine, it's worth going to.

Tried Bicycle based on the Zagat rating and what a pleasant surprise. The server was fantastic and knew the menu perfectly. Each course was better than the last. The paired flavors compliment each other even when it didn't seem possible. And considering the prices of other "top" eateries in Baltimore, Bicycle is reasonable. The neighborhood didn't leave much to do afterwards but that is Baltimore. Plus, the dress code is not stiff-upper-lip. Make the trip, give it a try - you won't be disappointed.
Pros: The Service, The Food, The Setting
Cons: The Neighborhood

I love the Bicycle. My husband and I dined there recently. and the waitstaff was amazing. they knew what we wanted even before we asked. The food is outstanding and a great value when you look at everything on your plate. So many restaurants charge you extra for veggies and their sides stink. the Bicycle was bold and extrordinary. I loved the wine list and the didnigroom expanded so crowding is only when the place is packed with foodies!!
Pros: Great food, great wine list, Valet parking on week

It is very different than the usual foods you would expect, but I enjoyed the dinner. The service was excellent, but unfortunately we were seated in a small space in the front of the restaurant and I had to ask the person behind me to scoot in so I could actually sit down. Overall, I would dine here again, but not a weekly or monthly basis. The food was very tasty, service was great, but the space and noise doesn't make this a favorite romantic restaurant of mine.
Pros: Flavorful foods, Service
Cons: Crowded, Noisy
