Fleming's, located at 720 Aliceanna St, is very hard to locate for someone not from the area. It is set back behind Roy's on the Eastern side of the round about in Harbor East in downtown Baltimore. My wife and I drove around the area for five minutes trying to find this place. However, upon arrival, the valets were excellent and expeditiously serviced our vehicle and guided us to the door.
After we were escorted to Fleming's, we were cordially greeted at the entrance by the maitre'd. She informed us that we would have to wait at the door until somebody would come to seat us. My wife and I thought this was odd. After a few minutes and our patience wearing thin, the maitre'd seated us herself. The explanation was eventually provided to us, but the maitre'd was waiting on the ok to seat us from the private security team of one of the guests. I am still not sure who the VIP was, but I was told he was royalty from abroad.
Despite the rough opening, Fleming's met all of our expectations. The wine list is superb. Dae Chang, the wine manager, is phenomenal and quite personable. After having a great conversation about the Zuccardi Malbec, Dae took a picture of my wife and I and then framed it and delivered it with our dessert.
Our host, Mike Mizrai, was great! He was well versed on the menu and made our evening out that much more special. His prompt and courteous service was not overlooked. He ensured that our wine glass was always topped and that our food was properly prepared. It was just the service you should expect when you go out for dinner.
The food was superb. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. My wife and I are very particular about the preparation of our meat and we both ordered our meat cooked in between the normal preparation standards. The kitchen was able to answer our request! My steak was prepared Medium rare plus and my wife's medium plus!
For dessert we tried their Molten Chocolate Lava Cake. It was the absolute best that my wife and I have had. They serve the standard fare with two scoops of vanilla ice cream on a chocolate chip wafer. The cake itself is more molten than cake and when opened up pours out and covers your dessert plate. The pistachios that top the confectionated sugar on top of the cake are lost in the river of chocolate and make for an excellent crunchy surprise as you devour this decedent dessert.
This restaurant is an absolute must!
Pros: Excellent Food, Excellent Service
Cons: Hidden in Harbor East

The food was excellent, especially the calamari. The beef was so tender it practically melts in your mouth. The service was also very good. But the atmosphere left something to be desired, they have an open kitchen- ineresting in theory, but it means that it was hard to hear over the din of dinnerware and silverware being stacked, and when you add that to the large dining room it was really hard to talk to the other members of our party. The location is nice, but the valet was disorganized- you might want to consider the parking lot just a few blocks away. For comprable food, but better ambiance, try Jordan's in Ellicott City, or Lewnes in Annapolis.
Pros: good food service
Cons: noisy to the point of annoying

many places in baltimore claim to be the best steak house but I am going to have to go with flemings and not just because of the great cuts of beef. the wine list has been carefull though out, unlike other steak houses which just load up a wine menu with many expensive wines that don't compliment anything on the menu. the location is also a big plus, I love to walk to and from the restaurant from downtown in a slow casual pace on a warm spring evening. and the service, I always ask for Rasheed, a true professional unlike the long list of young servers in what seems like every restaurant who act like they are doing you a favor buy serving you. cleanliness is also another factor in why I go there, how many restaurants have you been that you thought were great, only to use the facilities that seem like they get cleaned once a week? not so at flemings, at least not in my experience. I tend bar at the inner harbor and always suggest flemings to the many tourists I encounter.
Pros: food, service, location, wine list
Cons: cant think of any

The food, wine selection and atmosphere make this restaurant the best of the best. The waiters bend over backwards to make everything perfect. I had the peppercorn flavored steak which was fantastic. Their selection of potatoes is unlike any other restaurant. Flemings is very conveniently located at the bottom of I-83 and they even have valet parking. If you go there on a Sunday evening after a Raven game, you'll see many of the players. If they have a smile on their face, you'll know that their food was as good as their game.
Pros: Food, lighting, waiters, and wine selection
Cons: I couldn't fit more into my stomach

I have been to Flemmings on several occasions and was very pleased with the service. Recently I considered having my company's holiday party at Flemmings due to my previous experience. However upon contacting the planner of such events, I felt that this aspect of Flemmings was quite disorganized due to the fact that the planner never returned any of my phone calls. I am aware that there may be an explanation and I will continue to dine with one or two guest but will never again attempt to plan a party.

We were a group of 20 for a birthdayDinner. Poor lighting, bring flashlight. Service was gratious. but slow. I ordered BeefFlemington medumWell. One side of table received order 35 minutes after ordering. The other side recieved order about 5 minutes afterward. My food was very wellDone. Others ranged from overcooked to burnt (all ordered medum well). However, my husbands steak was cooked to perfection. My replacement BFlemington came 15 minutes later. It appeared to have been perfected, but when cut into the center, it was not pink, but raw. The staff(manager?)was cordial and offered a replacement, but I didn't see the point after 2 trys. It didn't appear on the bill. All in all, it has qualities of a great steakhouse, but improvement needed. My husbands delicious steak convinces me to give it another try. I would however just go with 1 or 2 people and order just a steak.
Pros: concerned staff
Cons: slow service, med well=very wellDon

I live just outside of Balto. and love FLemings. The food, service, ambience, and especially the wine selection are always wonderful. Each year my husband takes his employees to dinner around the holidays and we go somewhere different every year. Last year we went to Flemmings and had such a great time that his employees voted to go back again this year. Whether we have gone as a group, and had our own private room, or as a couple we have always enjoyed Flemmimgs.
Pros: Food, Wine List, Desserts
Cons: None

Just had dinner and I have to say there is something left to be right. It took quite a few minutes for us to even looked at by a server and once there, we ordered the wine vine. The waitress insulted my wife by insinuating that she could not afford the wines that she selected. The wines were of an ok taste, color and age. There were a few acidic wines. The food however could have been better. The lamb chops were small and did not have a good taste to them. My steak seemed thin, even though it was stated that the steak came at 1/2" cuts. The atmosphere was average. The aviance for romance wasn't there for my wife and I. I would not recommend this steakhouse to anyone that I know.
Pros: Wine
Cons: Everything else.
