The Village Learning Place is a true example of what happens when a community makes education a priority. This community library and learning center opened when the former Pratt Library branch #6 closed. The community rose up and created what now is a center for learning, education, and understanding. While the library isn't huge, it houses over 15,000 books. Homework clubs, children's workshops, an active teen program, and computer classes make the VLP a wonderful part of Charles Village. Since I've moved from MD, I miss the VLP dearly; make a point to stop by and check out a book!

University Baptist has a youth service Sundays at 7:30 in the Chapel. I have attended a couple of these services, and I really liked the Church. The congregation is very welcoming and Pastor Jamie is very friendly. Though mostly made up of college students, there are a few older members as well. The worship is contemporary in style and very inspirational. I also enjoy Pastor Jamie’s enlightening sermons as well. I highly recommend this church.

More
St. Philip and James is an old parish located in the heart of Charles Village. The church itself is absolutely breathtaking, from its ornate architectural features to the tiled mosaics on the ceiling. There is definitely a multicultural feel to this church, which I liked, but it also seemed old. Parishioner are pleasant, but I wouldn't classify them as overly friendly. The parish makeup is a combination of elderly members of the community and college students from nearby Johns Hopkins. The parish has been working lately on outreach and community involvement initiatives, so I think they are trying to work on reinvigorating their image.

More
I've been a member of the Sacred Heart Shrine for several years now. It is by far the best church that I found in Baltimore--a great community, with lots of young adults and young families, as well as older individuals to lend the voice of experience. Great homilies and fantastic music have kept me coming back for years. I also enjoy participating in the Young Adult ministry group--it's a great way to meet people, and we get to help out our community and learn more about our faith at the same time.

This is a great place,I know our relatives from out of state have to come by here and get several cheesesteaks and freeze them to take home in a cooler for later. Its a real experience, walking around all the vendors and food places and trying to figure out what would taste the best that day.Parking can be fun since its on a busy city street, and the subway also runs near there with a stop.
