I have been here a number of times--the food is good, but twice I've paid with my debit card and left a cash tip. Both of those times, the waiter tipped himself/herself on my card in addition to the cash that I left! The first time I spoke with the manager and was lead to believe it was a mix-up and they fixed the problem immediately and it would never happen again. Six months later--happened again. I can assure you it won't happen a third time because I will NEVER dine here again. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone unless you are interested in being ripped off.
Cons: They're slow and dishonest

Love the nachos grande at this place, however you have to keep an eye on everything when you carryout, I ordered a (2) nachos grande with everything for myself and a group of co-workers at my job. When I got the Nachos back to the office and all divvied up we all realize there is no meat?? Called up to Holy Frijoles and spoke with the same guy Lesser who took the order, and he says just because I ordered grande doesn't mean the meat would come I tell him I asked for everything and I spoke with you when i ordered he doesn't take my name or anything just tells me to speak with the manager next time I come. The staff needs to lay off the mind altering substances!!!! I will go back and speak with either Nate or kristen then let you know how well they handle this dillema. My suggestion order all you want but eat in so if theres a problem you won't have to deal with the lack of ready response to issues.--------------------->
As promised I would follow up. I ordered carry out a week later and spoke with Abbie? after a little back and forth (manager stepped out and she needed to phone her regarding my mix up). They comped my two orders of nachos and they were loaded with all of the desired toppings, we ordered other items this day (chicken quesadilla, and how ironic nachos grande no meat - Lent) and everyone was thoroughly satisfied. So hat's off to Holy Frijoles for totally redeeming yourselves. Due to the excellent attention my office will enjoy the best Nachos deal in town. So don't hesitate to dine in or carry out of this spot, bur you gotta try the loaded nachos there's enough to feed 4 for under $10.00. The toppings are fresh and delicous some of the best salsa ever.
Pros: Great food cheap eats
Cons: check carry out orders thoroughly

I have been to this restaurant on several ocassions and have always enjoyed myself, but my last visit left a bad taste in my mouth and less money in my wallet. My office did take out and i put it on my charge card. I didn't tip the guy on my card but with cash. I checked ,my statement and foud that instead of the $40 there was a $50 dollar charge. Come to find that the waiter tiped himself $10 after we left and then processed my card. Called to let the manager know what type of people they had working there and she totally blew me off. Will never go there again. If you decide to eat there DO NOT PAY WITH A CREDIT CARD!!
Pros: None
Cons: They Stole from me

Great little Mexican restaurant with lots of great food. The bar area gets a little cramped, and the menu seems a little tired, but the fajitas are out of this world! The homemade chips and salsa you get when you're seated is worth the trip alone. Definitely the best salsa in Baltimore. One of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore and best places to drink a pint or two after a stressful day at work.
Pros: salsa, indie music, food
Cons: gets a little cramped, hipsters

It's neither the best nor the most authentic Mexican restaurant out there, but it's still quite good, and it seems to be one of those places that everyone can agree on. It's definitely a hipster joint; the clientele and staff are almost universally young and indie, with music and atmosphere to match. Even if, like me, you're a little too old for the vintage-Joy-Division-tee-shirt scene, it's a great place to get a couple of tacos and a couple of rum & Cokes. Vegetarians will have no problem getting a satisfying meal, and the house salsa that comes with the complimentary chips is rather good. I've been there many times, and I've never had any complaints about the staff. It does get a little crowded at times, especially around the bar.
Pros: Great casual atmosphere, enjoyable food
Cons: Sometimes crowded

I can promise you that if you like an unusual crowd and delicious food, then this is a wonderful place to go to. I have heard John Waters hangs out here, so that should tell you about the clientle. I loved the food, the crowd, and everything about it. It is definitely a place that my friends and I will visit again.

After hearing friends constantly rave about this place, I decided I had to check it out myself. I can promise you that if you like an unusual crowd and delicious food, then this is a wonderful place to go to. I, myself, am not very traditional and that is what attracted me to this place most, from the moment that I walked in the door. I loved the food, I loved the crowd, and I loved everything about it. It is definitely a place that my friends and I will visit again.

Holy frijoles is a current hipster favorite--happy hour and beyond, you'll see many a tattooed, thrift-wearing 20something drinking Boh at the bar. The food here is good, humongous plates of southwestern basics like taco salad and burritos. I saw Baltimore's most famous resident, John Waters, at the bar here. Nobody bothered him--it's that kind of place.

Holy Frijoles is one of the best places to go in Baltimore. Inexpensive, and now with the expansion, more space! The employees at Holy Frijoles are some of the best! The food is fantastic, and contrary to what the review says, It does serve drinks. A Margarita is a MUST HAVE, however there are many new drinks on the menu. Do not leave without trying the Mexican Ginger Beer or a Twisted Windmill and a Chimicanga! Great atmosphere, wonderful food, and drinks!!
Pros: Inexpensive, Unique, Delicious
