This restaurant was highly recommended to me by people so I took my wife their for a birthday dinner. I was told Ikaros has the best greek food in Baltimore. The tsatsiki was very good. I ordered the tenderloin shiskabob which was overcooked. The meat was dried out and had gristle and tendon running through it. The side dish was carrots and string beans that were frozen from a bag and not even seasoned. The rice that was on the side was watery and had a generic tomato sauce thrown on top. Horrible. My wife's food was even worst a shrimp dish that was shrimp in orzo baked in a tomato sauce with feta on top. No seasoning, bland, watery I have had Lean Cuisine meals that had more flavor. All in all the food was horrible the owners, the chef and the kitchen staff should be ashamed of themselves. What a horrible meal for $60 we paid our bill and left, went to little italy for deserts. There are much better restaurants to eat in Old greek town. Any good review of Ikaros on this website must be a fake written by the owners or the staff.
Pros: Nice Ambiance Friendly Staff
Cons: Bland flavorless food from a lazy kitchen

Ikaros is a great Greek restuarant in Greek-town that has some of the best gyros and souvlaki one can find. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean! Great place to eat.

My family and I have eaten at Ikaros dozens and dozens of times. In all of Baltimore this is hands down our favorite restaurant. The portions are very generous and the food is extremely consistant. My personal favorite is the Calamari and the Pastitsio. I also love the roast lamb and really any meat dish. The cooks at Ikaros have a way with meat - it's perfectly seasoned and very, very tasty. Chicken, lamb, beef - it doesn't matter. If it's made out of meat - Ikaros will cook it to perfection. My wife loves the Village Salad (no lettuce) and the crab cakes are absolutely out of this world. We always bring company from out of town to Ikaros. We have to pay a toll through the harbor tunnel to get there, but it's soooo worth it. We drive about 20 miles to eat there and have gone there 2-3 times a month for over 10 years. I have tried other Greek restaurants, some of them very good, but we always seem to go back to Ikaros. They get my absolute highest recommendation.
Pros: Excellent menu, something for everyone, seafood, salads, steaks, lamb, pasta, etc
Cons: Can be a little crowded. Parking is available but sometimes you have to walk a couple blocks.

I have ate Greek all over the country, from LA to Vegas to NYC to Chicago to pretty much anywhere you can think of and this is without a doubt one of the best Greek places I have ever enjoyed a meal (or two or three). Very good and friendly service. Can't go wrong with almost anything of the menu, Calamari, moussaka and top it off with some baklava would be just about perfect...but better not eat to much before you because the serving sizes are HUGE!
Pros: Food and Service
Cons: Parking

I'm from New York. We were in Baltimore last weekend and we chose this restaurant on the 3 recommendations bellow. Were we in the same place!?
Except for the eggplant salad appetizer everything was tasteless (between 7 of us, we covered most of the menu). Tossed salad was not mixed and not cut up. The waitress brought a huge bowl without serving utensils and said that that we can mix it and serve it ourselves. Now, that's service! I ordered a Salt Margarita (which was on the menu), they put the salt inside the drink.
As for décor, they could use a fresh coat of paint. And those bathrooms could really use some updating.
Pros: none
Cons: food, decor, service

The exceptional reasonably-priced food is equaled by the service and the graciousness of the management. Try the eggplant salad appetizer. It's fantastic!

Ikaros is hands down the VERY BEST! I sure do wish they would publish a cookbook, better yet, move here to Florida! Thanks for many happy memories spent visiting family and friends in your restaurant!
Pros: convenient parking, Incredible Food
