Compassionate, Caring, Friendly, and all for a reasonable price. Unlike small-time vets the doctors there aren't motivated to sell unnecessary treatments. They are paid salary so they are only motivated to make your pet well. I can't imagine the other reviewers experience happening at the Banfield on Ming Ave. Dr. Dendy is marvelous with the pets. He alwasy takes the time to clearly explain what's going on and what will be done. When one of our adopted cats came preloaded with kittens the doctors gave us their personal number in case there was a problem with the momma cat delivering. Dr. Dendy has saved several of out pet's lives when the local vets didn't care. A local vet was selling us a cream to treat a rash on our dogs ear. Very expensive cream over and over. When we took her to Banfield Dr. Dendy told us the truth. That cream would have never worked. The "Friendly Local Vet" was just soaking us for $70 a tube for cream knowing full well the dog would never get well. One round of cheap pills and the infection was gone. Thanks to the caring and honest staff at Banfield. When Sumo had a urinary blockage the staff at Banfield handled the emergency and even saved us money by handling the surgery as his "Free annual tooth Cleaning" under his care plan. Thanks to Banfield Sumo is alive and well and I have several thousand dollars I wouldn't have if we used "some local vet". Banfield Is simply the best vet I've ever had. Their compassion is unsurpassed. The quality or care is the best. The care plans have saved us thousands of dollars. Ask a pet owner who has been there many times. more

We took our two dogs to this place for shots. One of the dogs was a year old and the other was three. They were rough with them, the doctor was extremely rude, and his assistant did not know how to deal with the dogs. Animals need calm and kind people to help them from being nervous. Their 800 number didn't help resolve the issue in any way either. I would not recommend Banfield, and I will NEVER go there again! Find a local neighborhood vet that has a decent bedside manner and compassion. more

The veterinarians and the staff at the Banfield of Bakersfield are the friendliest and most courtiest people I have ever met. They made my dog and I feel like we were the most important people in the world and they do it every time. I especially love the new young female vet they have, she has been great!! more
