The Highlands Pedalers is a bicycle club for cyclists in Highlands County, Florida. This group of about 45 bicyclists can participate in weekly bike rides around Sebring, a once a month breakfast ride and in bigger events, too. Most of the bigger events are held outside the county. Monthly meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at the Kenilworth Lodge.
Membership fees are $25 for individual, $30 for family and $10 for junior. A $30 family membership includes children 18 and younger. A junior membership is for those 18 and over. Shop time is $5 per visit.
A full individual membership, which includes shop time, costs $50; a full family membership, which includes shop time, is $55.

Jason Trombley graduated from the East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota, FL. He holds a Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He is an Acupuncture Physician (A.P.) licensed by the Florida State Board of Acupuncture and is certified (Dipl. Ac.) by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). He is also a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) licensed by the Florida State Board of Massage. Jason uses his extensive knowledge of Oriental medicine, herbs and acupuncture techniques to successfully treat a wide variety of conditions.
I found the acupuncture center to be relaxing, calming and restful and Jason Trombley to be extremely knowledgeable in the medicine he practices.

When I first opened an account with SunTrust, it was long before they were called SunTrust. What was once an excellent service-oriented bank has become less and less so with each merger and/or name change. The services they once offered have decreased until I felt it was no longer worth having an account with SunTrust so I moved to Bank of America, which is just a few blocks south of SunTrust.

Since The Service Center closed, Sterling's Lawn & Garden is one of the few independently owned, legitimate lawnmower companies in town. There are several individuals working out of their homes who say they'll repair your lawnmower and my husband has tried working with a couple of them but has never received anything but problems in return. One gentleman left our disassembled lawnmower sitting outside unprotected for four months (during three hurricanes) until it rusted so badly we had to buy another lawnmower. Sterling's sells mowers as well as parts and supplies for lawn mowers. They also sell and service Husqvarna products.

When my mother died, I was the one who was responsible for making all the decisions for her arrangements. It was a difficult time for me emotionally and financially. Mr. Nelson was very helpful and gently guided me through the decisions I needed to make at that time. Even though that was 12 years ago, I still believe Mr. Nelson was honest and ethical in the way he treated me. He could easily have steered me into choosing things I didn't need and therefore making more money for himself but he didn't. He helped me make low-cost choices which fit my needs.

I've had my insurance through Dan Evers at State Farm for almost 20 years. They are helpful but they never go the extra mile, like all those insurance agents in the commercials on TV. If I can get an answer the first time I ask it, everything seems to be good but it is nearly impossible to get his office to follow through with anything. If they need to call me back with an answer, for instance, I don't hear back from them and have to call repeatedly to get my answer. They must be doing something right, though, since I do keep my car insurance with them.

Until she had a heart attack, my mom went to aquabics class at the Jacaranda Hotel swimming pool three times a week. This class is part of the Community Education program at South Florida Community College.
SFCC bought the historic Jacaranda Hotel many years ago and refurbished it. In addition to the aquabics and aquacize classes held here, the college's food service classes are given here and student lodging is here. Since the college didn't have a pool at that time, the pool at the Jac was the perfect place for water fitness classes to be held.
My mom felt like she got a great workout in this class. It decreased the pain caused from her arthritis, kept her muscles stretched out so she could move around easier and kept her limber.
It was also a wonderful social gathering for my mom and the other ladies in the class. They got together once a month or so for lunch at various restaurants and Mom hosted an annual Christmas party at her house. Lasting friendships were formed and, although my mom is no longer enrolled in the class, she still attends the luncheons and gets together with several of her classmates.
I attended the aquabics class several times but the pressure of the water against my chest made it too difficult to breathe. Debbie, the fabulous instructor, was very understanding and encouraging. She allowed me to do the exercises I could participate in and let me float and kick when I couldn't do what the other ladies were.
This is a class I highly recommend to anyone and everyone.
