I got into a difficult situation and needed to borrow some money. The amount wasn't enough to necessitate a bank loan and I didn't want to ask my family for a loan. Some friends suggested that I go to AMSCOT. Because of all the negative things I'd always heard about them, I was afraid to go there; however, I didn't have much alternative. I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly the people working there were. They didn't ask why I needed to borrow the money and didn't lecture me about managing my money better (as my family might have). In the end, it was a pleasant experience. AMSCOT helped me get through a difficult time in my life and made the situation a little easier for me. I've been back since then to "buy" money orders, which are FREE.
