Z Tejas is a wonderful place to go and relax and just soak up the atmosphere. Their food is wonderful and I think the best southwestern style cooking in town. The service is always top notch and the view is wonderful as well. They are a bit pricey but well worth it, especially for a great date or other special night.

Imagine my surprise when going for a nice dinner on Monday to find a hidden happy hour gem. My girlfriend and I went to Z'Tejas up North and had one of the best dining experience while watching the sun set over the hill country from their huge outdoor patio. We split a couple of apps not knowing they were half price all night on Mondays and finished up with the seafood enchiladas that were awesome. I will def be back for another Monday.

Go to either location and order this: Drink- Fruzion (sp?) Margarita: their yummy frozen rita with a floater of fruit infused Patron *yummy* Appetizer- Guacamole and Shrimp tostada bites (well seasoned, guac always good, delicious slaw to accompany tostadas) Dinner- Chorizo Stuffed Pork Medallions: always tender, yummy sauce, very well cooked and just DELICIOUS dammit! Dessert- Ancho Chili Chocolate Pie: nuff said! I don't know what your dinner companion will get, but it will probably be delish too.
Pros: Free valet, Margaritas, food, multiple outdoor seating areas
Cons: Queso is just ok, smoking not allowed on any one of the outdoor areas

Z pizza is a little pizza shop downtown on 2nd street, that serves all organic pizza. The pizza is amazing!!! They The service is awesome as well. I often place large orders for my office and the food is always hot and ready at the appointed time. The have online ordering available and you can pay for it online too, so cool in my book!
I only gave it four stars because parking is a little difficult for any downtown location.
Pros: All organic
Cons: parking

GREAT sushi! Not much ambiance, but that's not a big deal. It could be easily fixed if they just worked on some mood lighting (even just dimming the main lights). Back to the food- it's great. We were supposed to get dessert after dinner but vetoed that idea in lieu of another sushi roll. Great service, also. I will go back again and again.
Pros: quality, price, service
Cons: parking, too bright inside

I went to the Secret Closet hoping to find a good selection of party dresses but was disappointed. The selection of what I was looking for was very sparse (I only found one dress to try on). The ladies where friendly but not overly helpful. Not wanting to waste the trip up there, I ended up browsing the racks. They had a decent selection of purses and shoes, and some of business suits. Overall, not too impressed.
Pros: Good shoe, purse selection
Cons: Very little party dress selection

I love YLR. I fell in love with this amazing floor lamp with laterns that was $200. They were having a sale and I asked if it was on sale. They told me it wasn't, but they could put it on sale for me. They marked it down to $140. I got home and I took the paper lanterns out of the box and there was a piece missing. When I went up there, they were very apologetic and opened another box right up and gave me a new one, no questions asked. Friendly, helpful, local. An Austin gem, not to be missed.

their bday parties are very unique and the kids love them. we've attended a hawaiian themed party and a 3 year-old tea party. they were both excellent. they have great workshops for kids; lots of variety. we've also attended their summer camps. art is one of our favorite ones.
Pros: customer service
Cons: wish they had more locations
