I don't have alot of money and when my window of my car was unexpectedly smashed out I called my dad. He said to get the part myself from A1-Imports. The guy Matt there was so friendly and helpful. He pulled the part for me from their junk yard that day and had it waiting for me when I went to pick it up. The part cost me $25 when new it would have cost over $100. He even told me where I could take the part to have it fixed. Most repair places won't let you do this, they make you buy a part from them. So I save a bunch of money. I'd go back there in a heart beat if I ever needed too. These guys are straight up.

I have been here and I can tell you that this place is very nice. It is a nice place to go if you want to just kick back and relax. They have all sorts of coffee drinks, tea and even sodas. Of all the Starbucks in Austin this one is my favorite. It is in the Great hill area so it resides in one of the more expensive areas of Austin. I had them make me a mint chocolate frozen latte.

When looking for a house in Austin or the surrounding area I dealt with several real estate agents before meeting with Jack Sprott of Century 21 Ripley Realty. Instead of trying to sell me a house that I couldn't afford Jack listened to our needs and then found suitable houses in our price range. Jack also helped us find the right financing options. He walked us through the process of house buying making what could have been a very stressful experience a pleasant one.

Our 6 1/2 yo son has been seeing Dr. Babot for over 5 1/2 years now.
Originally, I knew I wanted someone who was bfeeding (extended too) friendly. I also knew that I wasn't comfortable with NOT being able to go back with him for the exam.
She was/is WONDERFUL. I was assured that parents of such a young child would be welcome and I even nursed our son while talking with Dr. Babot!
She has always been respectful and knowledgeable of our concerns especially since we are on well water.
The office is neat, organized and child friendly. The staff is warm and helpful.
I've recommended her many times to friends and even online to other parent groups.

It's not a restaurant, though it has a restaurant, and it's not a bar, though you can buy beer. But in the spirit of places you might not have thought of to have a drink . . . it has an infinity-edge pool with a view of Lake Travis, and when a friend invited me to join her for an afternoon of swimming and beer, I couldn't resist, especially as she covered my $20 day pass (that fee is waived if you're having a spa treatment done). We bought chips and beer in the café, poured our libations into paper cups, wrapped ourselves in spa robes and special spa flip flops and headed out to the pool.
I swim regularly at the University of Texas, which houses one of the world's great pools; I've swum at St. Ed's, Big Stacy, Deep Eddy, Barton Springs, Decker Lake, Rollingwood and Circle C and I'm just back from two weeks in some of the Caribbean's best resorts (though I admit, I was in the ocean far more than the pool). But the Crossings pool is the prettiest one of all. Pop

When I first heard about this place, I couldn't understand what was so great about a paved circular path. But once you arrive here, you realize it's benefits. You can ride your bike or rollerblade only with other bikers and rollerbladers! There's no walkers, no dogs, no cars, and the pavement is in great shape. There are no cracks, you get your fair share of uphill and downhill stretches, and there is one quite challenging climb on one end. So put on your helmut and get out here. It's the best place to exercise on wheels in all of Austin. Oh, and did I mention it's completely free?

I'm kind of ambivalent about talking about my favorite auto mechanics online. I wish them the best for keeping my car running all these years, but if they get TOO popular, it might mean a longer wait the next time I take my car into the shop. Oh well, they deserve the business.
I got my first car nearly 10 years ago. It was an '87 Chevy Cavalier, and I paid $100 for it. Within a week it developed a coolant leak, and I took it several places to fix it, but the fix never lasted. When it leaked again and I had to pull my car over on MOPAC to avoid baking the engine, I called a tow truck, and the driver recommended AALOTUS. They repaired it, and I never had another coolant leak.
AALOTUS is in South Austin where the clientèle aren't exactly rich, so they tend to error on the side of keeping repair costs as low as possible. They've managed to keep my $100 car running for almost a decade, without me going broke in the process. Most repairs were $100-$300. Once a few years ago I was forced by circumstance to take my car to another shop in a richer part of town. I was told my car needed a new engine, which would be several thousand dollars. They charged me $75 for this diagnosis. I couldn't afford that, so I dragged my car to AALOTUS, where they fixed my car for $60 (the main problem had been a loose spark plug). The engine has been fine ever since. I got a refund for the $75 diagnosis from the other shop.
I'm writing about the location on South Congress managed by Bill Cox. There's another location on 615 Burnett and I have no reason to think they're not good too, but I've never gone to them.
I've been so happy with AALOTUS over the years that I wrote a letter praising them to the Better Business Bureau. You'll see it on the wall in their shop, along with others. If you go there, tell 'em Goodman sent you.

Whole Woman's Health is a patient-centered women's Healthcare practice where the focus is on the whole woman. Theybelieve all healthcare, not just women's health and abortion services, can better serve the Austin community with a holistic approach. They offer counseling services, reproductive health/abortion services, and ob/gyn service. The Clinic is intended to make these decisions as comfortable as possible--they give patients headphones with soothing music to listen to while undergoing surgery, and adopt many other approaches to ensure that patients feel at peace and safe.
