Sitting just off the main drag of clubs on Sixth Karma is hidden in more way than one. When walking on 8th there is a good chance that you might walk right past this place if you aren't looking for it pretty intently. When you find it though you will be very glad you did. Karma Lounge is a very classy and well designed place. The decor is tasteful and elegant, large rd plastic rods dominate the walls and the huge glass tank in the center of the bar is hard to take your eyes off. The tank isn't for fish, it is for the drunken girls at the end of the night and seeing as how Karma Lounge is one of the only spots in Austin offering after hours you can guarantee that this place and that tank will be packed most any weekend night after 2am. The main room is a decent size, a little dark since there are no windows in the club, but it has a good vibe. It has two smaller "rooms" or seating areas attached to it that offer a brief escape from the many party denizens. Once you pass the bar you will find to additional rooms, both very classy and very well equipped. The availability of these rooms really depends on the night though. Karma Lounge also now has a secured night with Tracey Laughlin promoting and her nights always bring out the best people. Karma Lounge is a great place to head late in the night or for after hours but you HAVE to head there. Located on 8th and Colorado.
