I love these guys. I bought a little scooter here and they were great. They also continue to be pleasant and helpful when I call.
This is a local, family owned business. I highly recommend you go there and be respectful. All it takes to get the best service there is.
Pros: very knowledgable
Cons: expect you to be respectful to all...is that really a con? lol

You may not want to eat off the floors like some other shops around town but these guys are good. I was extremely impressed when the tech called me after seeing "jet carb" on my ticket and wanted to know exactly what i expected him to do. We talked for several minutes about all the possibilities and what my expectations were and what performance, mileage, etc. I was currently getting before adding performance parts i had now. Wow! You mean you don't just want to stick it on and take my money? He then gave me to expectations that if we didn't' meet we failed and needed to try again. He also set my expectations properly by letting me know we may not get it right the 1st time but he would work with me until we did. Well, here's to you Bud and your crew! I'll be back and I'll bring friends!
Pros: They have everything and anything for your bike!
Cons: Parking

I have let these guys paint all of my projects and I have been completely satisfied every time. I think filpnotic is on hipnotic because the work has always been great. When ever I meet with these guys i just let them do their work and everything is great. I don't know what the last customer is talking about becasue i have never had a problem with any paint that they have done for me and that make 3 different jobs. Although I do remember this bike being while I was getting some work done. If I am mistaken this complaint look to be around that same time. This guy was unhappy with a stock paint job right off of the showroom floor what a dirt bag. I guess you can't satisfy every guys but keep up the good work. This is the only place that will do what you ask.
Pros: can get virtually whatever you want.
Cons: have to make an appointment

My girlfriend and I went into the Austin location of CTHD looking to purchase her first bike. We found a 95 Honda Shadow. Got a good deal on it. Ran into a slight issue- she did not have a motorcycle license yet and I did not have a valid Texas motorcycle license. The guys at CTHD agreed to deliver the bike to my house and I live in Manor. I said that was awesome, but I was about to be going on vacation the next day. They agreed to keep the bike there and deliver it when I got back. The bike sat for about a month before my girlfriend was able to ride it. Once she did- we noticed that the speedometer didn't work. Then on the way home from a ride, the key fell out. We called CTHD the next day- and they agreed to come pick up the bike and fix all of it for free. I bought a used bike, had it for at least a month- they had no reason to help, especially for no cost. But they came out to my house in Manor, loaded my bike into a trailer and fixed it for free. I was pleasantly surprised.
A few months latter I got a mostly junk Yamaha from a person privately. I did not want to keep it since it had so many issues (including having no brakes). I took it up to CTHD. They looked it over and offered me over what it was worth on it. Then they stayed an hour past close so I could run home and get proof of employment to finish the paper work for a new used bike. I ended up riding out of there on an 01 Yamaha V-Star that I got an awesome deal for. The next day, the bike wouldn't start. I called up CTHD and they sent a mechanic out to my house with a new battery and replaced it in my driveway for no cost.
I've had nothing but awesome experiences with the Austin local of CTHD and recommend people there all the time.
Pros: best bike shop I've ever been to
Cons: the Austin location is only used bikes

I am somewhat new to the area, and one of the things I like to do in a new area is to visit all the local motorcycle shops. So, predictably, I ended up at Lone Star Triumph. I must admit that I was a little bit apprehensive when first entering the shop because I had heard that BMW dealers tended to be unfriendly. I am happy to report that this dealer does not follow that trend. The people there were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about their products. They are happy to answer questions and give recommendations, or to let you browse without breathing down your neck.
I am 6 foot 9 inches tall, so understandably gear can be hard to come by. Imagine my surprise when they not only were able to recommend which brands were likely to fit, but they actually had several options in stock that I could try on. I was floored. I had previously had a hard time finding people who knew what gear was available in tall sizes, much less actually having it in stock for me to try on.
Robert is the salesperson I have dealt with most, and he has been extremely helpful and friendly every time I've been in the store. He was willing to special order a pair of boots in for me in size 16 (and they fit great btw.) He even had a smile for me when I walked into the store 20 minutes before closing (I greatly apologize for my poor timing:) and had the exact jacket I was looking for in stock and in my size!
To top everything off their prices and selection are quite good.
I will go out of my way to purchase all of my gear from Lone Star, as well as sending anyone I can to them. I can't say enough good about the people. They have my business for life.
Pros: Great gear selection, highly knowledgeable staff
Cons: Now that I've found a place that has the right sizes in stock, my wallet is a bit thinner... :)

I recently bought a motorcycle from the folks at Texas Powersports. The owner Glenn was really nice and gave me a smokin deal on the bike. I talked to the 2 gentlemen in the parts department about ordering some accessories. They were very knowlegable with all my questions and concerns. They did let me know they would have to order it and that it would take about 5 business days to get it. Almost the same thing happened to me as happened to the unreasonably mad lady in the review below me. The part was supposed to get there on monday but unlike her I actually read the big sign that said closed on Sunday and Monday. It was no big deal just like it would have been no big deal if she had paid attention and read the sign. Just as the parts guys told me, my parts arrived on time. Why would they tell you the order would be put in on monday when Im sure the staff knows if they are closed or not..... you just heard what you wanted to hear lady!!!!! Oh and maybe the employees didnt have access to things like UPS tracking. I know at my work, I do not have that access unless the bossman does it himself or gives me the password. I get a little irritated when self-centered people try to bash others who do good work. So back to the review. I would definately reccommend Texas Powersports to anyone and would also reccommend that they disreguard the last review with the sour old lady.
Pros: Clean, Polite, Helpful, Knowlegable, Friendly
Cons: None!!!!!

it's (intentionally) been a couple years since i went to woods, but when i did, i took my suzuki rims (freshly powdercoated) and tires, and bearing spacers. the bearings had to be replaced, so i told them i need new bearings and tires on the rims, and gave them the spacers which they could reuse when putting in new bearings.
when i got them back, i felt around inside for the spacers and they'd forgotten. they'd also chipped the powdercoating after i explicitly told them to be careful. i went back and they said sorry, we'll replace the bearing and put the spacers in this time. they did, thanks.
i'm not sure it would have been fatal to not have spacers between the bearings but i wouldn't want to find out at 65mph on the freeway...
Pros: close
Cons: morons in service dept

Ducati Austin is a great place to shop if you're into Italian bikes. They're a full service Ducati only shop and I just love the Monster S4R. The salespeople are very knowledgeable about these great bikes and can answer any questions you might have. They're also very affordable and offer pre-owned as well as new. They also carry apparal and other Ducati merchandise as well.
