I needed a repair done to the bumper of my Honda. I brought it in, got a quote and a couple of days later we had a hail storm. The shop suddenly became very busy with major work, and my small repair could seem insignificant, but these folks handled it beautifully. They actually went above and beyond by taking care of a couple of scratches in a separate area of the bumper from the damage I brought it in for. They won my business hands down!
Pros: Great work, great customer service
Cons: Parking lot is a bit tight

My vehicle wasn't an insurance claim, so I shopped several auto body shops before choosing Whitakers. As far as estimates go, they were all fairly close, so the deciding factor for me was their great online reviews. I have to say that I was not disappointed in the slightest. These guys actually get it. Best customer service I can recall at any business! And that's what a customer wants; to be treated like your business is appreciated. The manager, salesman, receptionist, even the guy doing the pin-striping were all great. They earned my future business and my referrals. Thanks again and keep up the good work!
Pros: friendly staff, fair estimate, great customer service
Cons: none.

Wells Fargo in general, and particularly this branch, provide outstanding service. The lines generally move pretty quickly, and if you are in the lobby, you will find it comfortable and can have a cup of joe while you are waiting. The bank employees are quick to acknowledge your presence, and should you be in the drive thru line, you may even get a treat for you dog or a lollypop for you kiddo. The online banking service is exceptional, as they scan your checks so that you can click on the transaction and refresh your memory, as well as printing out any records that you need. Their 24 hour phone bank has solved many a problem for me, and not once in seven years have I received rude service. I highly recommend banking with these folks.

Closing my late mother's accounts has been a three month exercise in incompetence, chaos and confusion. To even try to accomplish anything, I must go to a branch. The South Lamar branch seems to have a revolving door personnel policy--I rarely even saw the same person in the banker position, despite going on the same day of the week each visit.
To add to that, each time I went in, the previous visit's promise to "take care of everything" turned out to be empty. Often what was done was incorrect, or incomplete, and I kept finding that I had to insist on specifics to accomplish them.
It took three visits to try to get the checking account transferred into my name. Yes, I had all the legal documentation. The third time, the branch manager told me I didn't need to put the account in my name, since I didn't need an estate account. This was the opposite of what one of her bankers had told me on the first visit.
When I went to close the two CDs, I found out that they had not been transferred to my name either. In addition, I found out that my social security number had been put in for the Tax ID number of the Trust, which I had NOT known of or approved. The Trust should have it's own Tax ID Number. After an hour of cooling my heels in a banker's cubical, he returned to tell me there were "two forms that had to be signed by a branch manager" in order to cash out the CDs. Unfortunately, he informed me, their branch manager would not return to the branch for two days. He would not give me the forms to take to another branch, or even tell me the names of the forms. It was all very suspicious.
I then went to the branch on Wm Cannon, but it took 2 hours to finally get the checks for the CDs, and the procedure there was nothing like what the banker at the S. Lamar branch described. They didn't even know anything about the "two forms"! Curiouser and curiouser....The reason it took almost two hours to get the checks, was that nothing had been done to put the CDs in my name, and in fact, we had to apply for a Tax ID Number on the phone, to get everything correct before I could close the CD account.
I CANNOT recommend this firm. The attitude of the banker, branch manager and tellers at S. Lamar was that I was the dead rodent in their lemonade. Now is that the way YOU want to be treated by your BANK?
Pros: They give you free popcorn and coffee--WHOOPEE!
Cons: They make it up as they go, no continuity, very chaotic

How can a bank provide adequate customer service when they do not list individual branch phone numbers in either the yellow pages or on the internet? All I wanted to do was make an appointment with a notary to make sure they would be there at noon and to insure I did not interrupt THEIR lunch hour. I had to call the general number which serves all branches (approx. 20) for Austin. When they did not provide the option to speak with an operator, I fudged calling a random extension and then I could press "0". I got someone whose computer was down due to lightning, which I understand. But she did not even have a hard copy of branch numbers. How much time do individuals and business waste on this kind of amateur business practice?
Pros: Spoke to someone who did not have back up hardcopy info.
Cons: Poor phone number options
