Kruger's is a family-owned store that has been doing business in Texas for over 100 years. That kind of staying power said something to me right off the bat. I walked in one day and was greeted by Zoe. She politely asked what she could assist me with and I informed her that I was looking for a bridal set to give to my now fiancee. (She's the one in the picture that looks a whole lot better than me.) I came prepared. I knew exactly the type of style, cut and color/clarity of the center stone that I was looking for. Zoe found several great options and ultimately showed me a channel-set antique band with side diamonds. When we selected the center stone, it came out gorgeous.
Then came the price negotiation. I get paid to do this kind of thing, so I thought myself to be sort of a pro at it. I got to do business directly with David Kruger, and after some amicable negotiation, we arrived at a price that was mutually satisfying.
The post-purchase process was nothing less than top-shelf. They prepared the ring for Christine to our high standards. They gave me information on ring insurance, which I purchased recently, and offered to clean my fiancee's ring anytime for no charge. Their service department is second-to-none.
I took Christine by the other day and introduced her to Zoe, David and the rest of the staff. They oohhed and awwed how marvelous the ring looked on her hand. What a great experience I had.
To all of the Kruger's family: You have a customer for life.
Pros: World Class Service, Top Notch Selection

I had been looking for a ring for it seemed years, as soon as i walked in the front doors at Krugers I knew that it was going to be the place of i would shop for a very long time. My first steps in the very comfortable shop i was greeted by an employee and helped right away. I went back to the shop several times trying to make a decision on which ring was the perfect one for me and my loved one. I was helped by a two different employees who remembered my name every time i came back and also knew exactly where we left off the last time we spoke. I told Mr. Kruger where my price range was and he set me up with a diamond that was far bigger, clearer, and well cut than ever should have been in my price range. If you don't go see Mr. Kruger and his fine employees you are not getting the ring and diamond that is best for you!!! Thanks again Mr. Kruger you should have seen the look on her face, when she saw that diamond!!!

I worked for David Kruger for a few years and loved every minute of it. When it comes to a business that really knows about customer service, this is the place. The downtown location is a very special store with some of the friendliest employees in town. Although it has been over ten years since I worked for David, I can't stop going back there. The reason I am writing this review is because they deserve it. In todays world people are so fast paced and seem to have forgotten what good customer service feels like. I would suggest taking a trip downtown and enjoy the warm reception you get at Kruger's. My entire family does business with Kruger's and will continue to do so. Thanks guys! Paul P.
David, even though I would expect no less, I read through just about every review on here and it is rare to hear only positive feedback. Congrats on keeping Kruger's true to your beliefs.
Pros: Just a great overall experience.
Cons: None!

Yesterday, my wife and I walked into Mr. Kruger's jewelry store while visiting Austin TX. We had noticed a diamond in the window.. Zoe and Jennifer welcomed us as though they had known us for years. They answered several of our questions in a no-pressure cheerful manner. Mr. Kruger came out from the back to answer some of our questions. After several minutes of patient help, we decided to "think on it" overnight. We left the store marvelling over their friendly help.
We came back to the store the next day, largely because their helpful attitude, and of course, the good price. All three of them helped us find the very best hand-made setting (an amazing work of art),. By far, this was our most enjoyable and pleasant experience in a jewelry store anywhere anytime. Thanks, David, Jennifer, and Zoe for making our time in Austin so special.
Rob and Carol - New York.
Pros: friendly, knowledgeable, price, great attitude
Cons: not in New York.

I have never written a review in my life, but I have to spread the word about Sam at Kruger's on Congress. I have lived in Austin for 13 years, but never found a jeweler I trusted with confidence. When my wedding ring needed new prongs, my hometown jeweler recommended David Kruger. David's jeweler, Sam, not only fixed the prongs on my 9 year old ring, he repaired the damage caused by my band rubbing against my ring and soldered them together. It is gorgeous! More amazing than my wedding ring is a century old ring that belonged to my mother that Sam totally restored. I literally broke down in tears when I saw his amazing work. In addition to finding the most awesome, skilled jeweler in Sam, David, Jennifer and everyone at Kruger's on Congress are friendly, professional people. Now, I don't have to drive all the way to Beaumont to find a jeweler I can trust.

I went shopping for an engagement ring on Valentine's Day with my fiance. The place was packed with shoppers of all types. We were immediately greeted and made to feel welcome while we waited. Anna ended up receiving us with a joyful smile and bubbly attitude which made us feel completely relaxed. We hadn't really shopped seriously before this day and went through every type of setting - Anna never slowed her enthusiasm to help us find the perfect ring. She brought out various sized diamonds and allowed us to see them in every ring we thought looked good. At no time in this process did we feel any pressure to hurry up or quit going back to something we had already put back into the case. Then one ring with a diamond already set appeared mysteriously where we hadn't seen it before. My fiance tried it on and it was the perfect fit and the perfect ring.
We were nearing closing time and started looking and bands. Every employee not with a customer and many of the shoppers came to admire the ring, and they gave their opinions on the bands we tried on. By the time we left, I felt like I had made a new group of friends.
Though it was perfect, we decided to go look elsewhere just to be certain. No other place had what we wanted. No other place had the same atmosphere that made us think if we just spent more time there we could find something better.
We will move away from Austin soon -- place yet to be determined by the Army -- but I would consider coming back to Austin to make any future jewelry purchases from Kruger's. They are the best!
Pros: honesty, atmosphere, service
Cons: it may take you time to find a place to park

I had already bought a ring at another store that ended up filing Ch.11, so through a long and painfully drawn-out process, I was able to return the ring, and ultimately find my way to KRUGER'S JEWELRY! They made my engagement ring purchase such a pleasurable experience that I plan on going back to get my wedding ring there and sending any and all of my friends that are getting close to engagement time to see David Kruger on Congress St... Such a great guy, and no pressure sales. Wouldn't go anywhere else!

I first went in to Kruger's around Christmas trying to put together a special engraved ring for my girlfriend. I was greeted by a friendly woman and then turned over to Anna. Anna talked with me for a long time trying to sort out exactly what I needed and if we could get it done by Christmas. She turned me on to a hand engraver that could do the difficult piece and told me she could order a sterling silver ring for me or I could get one somewhere else and have them do the engraving, or I could just take it to the engraver my self! She was so incredibly helpful even when it looked as though her business might not make any money off the deal. It turned out that I couldn't get it done in time for Christmas so I shelved the idea for a couple months. When her birthday did roll around I had already gotten the ring from a site on the Internet and was just going to take it directly to the engraver that Anna had told me about. The engraver works out of Russel Korman Jewelers so I took the ring up there to get it done. When I showed up they told me that in addition to the engravers fee they had to have a mark up for the store and the whole thing was going to cost me $175.00! Kruger's had told me back around Christmas that it would only be $75.00 so I went back to them. Once again Anna was incredibly helpful (even remembered my name) and told me she could get it done for the original $75.00. So I left the ring with them and a week later Anna called to let me know I could come pick it up. She was calling from her car and had just gone to Russell Korman to pick it up herself!
Living in a time where there is more and more Internet shopping and self checkout, these guys really remind you why you'd ever want to deal with real live person!
Thanks Anna and all the staff at Krugers!
Pros: Nothing but
Cons: I'm not able to buy more from them
