You should definitely come here for gelato! Though they are a bit pricey, I think it is worth it because you can't get any better gelatos any where else. They also serve great coffee. Sometimes it is difficult to find parking but that never stops me from coming here. If you 've never been here, then you should stop by sometime for a refreshing snack.

Paciugo has the most amazing selection of flavors for their gelato. The intenseness of their flavors will overwhelm your taste buds. This place has the best gelato I have ever come across and everyone needs to try it out. It is a much healthier and tastier alternative to ice cream.

The ice cream is homemade and they mix anything you want into it also with a show too! They have trivia questions for a free mix in and they are open late. A little pricey but a great treat!

I absolutely love going to Amy's Ice Cream. They have by far the best ice cream in Austin. They have tons of different flavors and toppings. Their stores all have really laid back people working there whoc just make the whole experience fun. I also love going there around valentine's day because they have chocolate dipped strawberries then which are phenomenal. I love Amy's Ice Cream.

I wasn't quite sure what "the funny named" ice cream was (called gelato) until I moved to Austin. I first saw it at a chocolate place in an upscale mall and I found it interesting, however the flavors and presentation at Piccomolo's were fantastic! My sister and I went with four kids the other day and the server allowed us to try any flavor we requested and was still gracious when it took us a while to actually place all of our orders. It was kid friendly but also a place I could go with my husband at the end of date night. And I found out that not only is their gelato delicious there but it has less fat in it than regular ice cream.

What to say about the best Ice Cream EVER?
This great location is the nearest to my house, nestled in the very trendy SoCo area, it looks more like a pop culture store than an ice cremery, but who cares?
I LOVE...LOVE...L-O-V-E their Mexican Vanilla with Fresh Crushed Strawberries. If you have not tried this tastebud delight, you just don't know how to keep Austin wierd!
FANTASTIC.

All you can say is that it is the most amazing ice cream you will put in your mouth. My all time favorite would definatly be the White Chocolate Mousse. I would definatly reccomend it. They even have a drive through if you are in a hurry. It is wonderful.
Pros: ice cream, drive through, service
Cons: price

Amy's is quintessentially Austin. No one who visits Austin without eating Amy's ice cream can really say the "visited" Austin. It's even available at the airport! (though there it's hard to choose between a breakfast taco, bbq, and ice cream...)
Several small batch flavors are available on a rotating and seasonal basis. Amy's even incorporates local beer into their ice cream (Shiner bock is a popular flavoer). They also offer typical ice cream parlor fare such as milkshakes, malts , sundaes and various "crushin's."
What really makes Amy's wonderful is the employees who always have personality plus. The various locations cater to different crowds, and their employees reflect this. They really do work for their tips-- so go ahead, be generous!
despite all the wacky flavors, my favorite is more classic-- peppermint icecream with oreos crushed in. At the arboretum location, go outside and sit by the fountain and cows. Perfection!

It's great to have choices. While I'm typically a fan of Amy's Ice Cream, I do find myself thinking of going to Ben & Jerry's nearly as frequent. That is a pretty high recommendation from an ice cream nut. The choices at the scoop shop are very similar to what you may find in the local grocery store, but there are a few additional delightful surprises I've never seen any where else. Try the Chocolate Therapy. There are also sundaes and smoothies, but I haven't gotten around trying those out yet...
Pros: Great ice cream
Cons: More than you'd pay at the grocery store
